  • Plus on lemvotes they display the owning instance of a post/comment, and hackertalks.com is basically only me, so it's trivial to see how many times someone interacts with me.

  • lishogi is kinda new (5ish years I think), i was around when it got forked from lichess.

I use lishogi because you don't need an account and it just works, but I think its pretty niche. It does have a adapted stockfish engine to play against.

Inside japan I think shogiwars is the most popular, but its kinda impenetrable for me, so I just tried it now... they have english in 2026 which is nice! But you can't change the pieces, however its a real experience worth visiting once.

Have you seen Chu Shogi? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chu_shogi - It's a whole thing, intense, its on lishogi but without a ai bot to play against, so human vs human only. It would be nice to play chu shogi against a bot to practice, but I don't know where to do that.

  • Fair enough, you got me, the cabal of out of print niche chess marketers has been discovered.

FWIW I recognize you, so I looked up the stats of our interactions when I saw your message to illustrate we have a shared history.

  • I want to know about self documenting chess pieces, I want to ask people if they know about them and where I can find them. Please help me phrase this in a understandable way.

  • How can I have this conversation without making it sound like a advertisement? I'm not trying to drive sales of anything, which would be kinda impossible given most of this stuff is out of print.

I'm just trying to illustrate diagrammatic chess options I'm aware of, and I want to find more. It's a very niche area. Finding more options is hard.

I would hope by this point you would recognize me (you have voted on 259 of my posts and comments) and realize I'm not some bot.

  • Happily lishogi.org lets you select the diagrammatic pieces which makes playing online really nice.

Sadly lichess.org does not have the same diagrammatic options!

  • Sadly the Dobutsu Shogi (in the greenwood) is out of print right now.

I'd love to see a better western chess option

And I'd love to have any chinese chess option at all!

Obviously I can learn the symbols for a single game myself, but if I want to play with other people or teach them how to play that is quite a learning curve!

  • Not just hsbc lots of safenet settings have a blacklist of apps they won't run with ..

It can be avoided by installing those blacklist apps in different accounts profiles or private space

Basically safenet let's apps say they won't run if anything is side loaded or instead with a third party app store

Maybe this is their long term plan to kill other apps stores... Let banking apps be the bad guy by volunteering for a high "safety net" setting

  • I've played arc raiders, not everybody will get to go...

  • Lots of words to avoid saying metabolic syndrome and insulin sensitivity ... Curious how these publications and gymnastics happen when announcing a new line of drugs...

If only there was a natural way to restore metabolic health without drugs by being deliberate with food choices, but if that were the case there would be no drugs to sell, so it's impossible

  • Steam badges with grossly large years of service .....

  • What is the decades of advice based on?

actually a study found that in a random blind test of 1000+ people 66% of the subjects had constipation symptoms lessen while 44% of the placebo group also saw symptoms reduced. this means fiber had an increased chance of relieving constipation.

Can you please give me the name of this study? Id like to actually read it

  • If you read the guidelines this paper is referencing : https://www.nationalacademies.org/read/10490/chapter/9 You will see that fibre is not a essential nutrient, rather it ameliorates the effects of poor food/nutrition. I highly recommend reading the guideline directly, it is fascinating, especially the physiological effects section

The guideline is based heavily on epidemiology, in fact the only RCT on fibre consumption I'm aware of shows fibre is a causal factor in constipation : https://doi.org/10.3748/wjg.v18.i33.4593

If your eating whole foods, adding fibre isn't going to do much for you because your food is nutritious. If your eating food that is bad for you, fibre is going to help because it reduces the amount of bad food you absorb... but my take away from this would be to avoid eating the bad food entirely

The one compelling benefit i've seen argued is that fibre is broken down into SCAs in intestines which is good for health, but this can also be achieved by eating low carb, intermittent fasting, etc.

  • this trial is bullshit.

Please provide the randomized trail showing the benefit of fibre with hard end points, where they also included a zero fibre arm

  • SicMu Neo is a lightweight, full-featured, file-based audio player with a simple to use UI and low resource footprint. It is especially well-suited for large music libraries organized in folder structures.

  • Simple poc test. Turn off your iphone, get a new iphone. Sign into icloud, can you access your images without manually typing in a key?

If not... The it's probably e2e

  • Using the metabolic theory of cancer the more people know about their cancer risks the more steps they will take to improve their metabolic health.

  • They should do value at risk and factor based %s to evaluate how much risk the models are taking on unintentionally

A good outcome doesn't mean the decision making process isn't bad
