  • Im surprised to see this pop up multiple times. If my device more or less is still plugged in with wireless chargers (as it can't really be "off" the pad) it's really not that impressive to me. Not to mention we've been pumping power through the air since the first radio.

If my device could charge anywhere within a certain radius (feet/meters), that would be impressive.

  • Yeah the issue with predictions around things like autonomous vehicles is it assumes tech advancements will flow in one direction/domain. There are still serious limitations of current AI systems in regards to autonomous vehicles and the next breakthrough may not be one relevant to that domain.

Its certainly possible, but we've basically been on the current autonomous vehicle hype for about 10 years already.

  • That page says 05/2020 launch date, so I think it's an old tech sheet. Can't find the tech specs for the mini that's being announced myself, but didn't try that hard.

  • I assume head of the ATF?

  • Maybe it depends on the app/platform but I only see titles when scrolling, so it sounded like he just got pulled over. Thus, not drawing attention to the bigger issue, which is the hit and run.

Peeing on yourself is bad / somewhat comical, hit and run is fucked up.

  • Interesting to know it's more powerful.

Sounds like they might have improved some of the build quality. That first GDP Win though has probably sullied my opinion of them indefinitely.

  • It actually makes sense if you think about it from the perspective that ML is about generalizing trends/functions. Simulating the world is hard, generalizing the world based on past observations - easy (with some lossyness).

  • I had the first GDP Win and after that would never buy something from them again.

Maybe the fourth iteration is better, but I can't imagine it has better build quality or performance to the deck.

  • Its so hard to tell with Trump. Was it a test or just ignorance or something else.

For example, they've already pulled so many people from the house for Trumps administration that the Republicans only have I think a one seat majority now (if I mathed correctly).

  • It definitely has applications in defense/Intel spaces. Knowing where a photo was taken can be really useful info.

  • The issue is it's going to be trained only on places people go. My understanding is that most geolocating systems are more focused on the uncommon or less traveled locations. Maybe I'm wrong, but I guess they're probably tested it out before announcing it.

  • It's why I've found board games designed as deck builders a lot more fun. Everyone is vying for the same cards so it's more about how you make your deck and involves strategy during play rather than lucky draws.

Star realms is a pretty fun example of this. Dominion is another, although doesn't really feel quite the same as a deck builder.

  • It's in the article, it was his friend Joel Greenberg who was charged with a number of crimes, including trafficking the girl tied to Gaetz.

DeSantis though, had pictures taken of him while drinking with high school girls he was teaching at the time (only added this cause I confused this one with Gaetz). I love snopes mentions the girls were probably 18 because it was right before graduation, as if no one was born in the summer / non seniors wouldn't ever be at a graduation party.

  • You should really read up on things like H1B visas then. They were for skilled workers and still got abused in a variety of ways including to suppress wages and get more or less indentured workers. I know places like GameStop loved them because the person would basically forfeit their visas if they quit so could abuse them more than a regular worker.

The more power an employer has over a worker and the less rights people who live in the country have, the worse it will be in general.

  • Maybe they changed things up in later seasons? I don't recall the first season really getting into anything like that (and I think I only made it 1-2 seasons in).

  • This was my issue with comedians in cars getting coffee. Felt like being talked down to by rich spoiled celebrities.

  • Yeah, not sure I would listen to this guy. Setting up a venv for each project is about a bare minimum for all the teams I've worked on.

That being said python env can be GBs in size (especially when doing data science).

  • Yep, don't be afraid to ask for help. The people at polling places are usually very nice and helpful!
