  • It isn't always and it isn't inevitable. Some scifi writers really do have amazing new ideas that have nothing to do with what's running on CNN.

    Some star trek episodes explore something weird and mind bending.

    Some do tired drama and political allegory (except with aliens).

    Consider the ratio.
