  • And there's two of them! And what feels like basically no dialogue and just stunt / set piece after stunt.

  • Since some groups refuse to move off of Facebook, I use an add on to force anything tied to Facebook to its own tab container on Firefox. This is in addition to tampermonkey, ublock, and like 5 other things. I still feel like it's not enough. They are a privacy nightmare, even on other sites.

  • Fair. I'm thinking about a mini-ITX build partially for the fun of it, partially because space is at a premium in my setup. I don't need to move this around much, but do care about the design a bit.

Otherwise, fair points on the sound management. I don't think it needs to be super quiet, but relative to a PS5 at full blast, thinking that's the sound limit.

  • R-CPD for those interested in the procedure. I think a doctor in Chicago came up with it?

  • I think it's just routers, ISPs and open internet standards (http, etc) that keep that wall up. 🥲

  • Whoops! Fat fingered. Let me update.

  • You have reporting requirements called FATCA and banks have reporting requirements for US customers. It's annoying to say the least.

    **edited: thanks @folekaule@lemmy.world!

  • If you have all of the photos, then you could use a tool like Immich Go, which would automate much of the tagging and album creation. I don't know if Immich Go accounts for metadata from Synology. However, Synology might be able to export everything.

I would also recommend putting Immich remote access behind Tailscale (I.e., pointing the remove access server to your tailnet and using that domain name and the Immich port to login).

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

Has there ever been an industry that's been "enshittified" and then un-"enshittified"?

  • Where does "tacky" fall in this? I can't see tacky and erotic but can see tacky and vulgar.

  • It's a perfectly cromulent word.

  • I take all of these to be interludes between stories in c/unix_surrealism. Or maybe fever dreams.

  • All 2+ of them?

  • Ehhhh, I read a bit of the article. My takeaway is that (1) static stretching, (2) as part of a warmup, (3) for sports that don't require a ton of range of motion may not be super helpful.

Quoting the paper, "Injury prevention and other effects of stretching remain poorly investigated"

  • The fact that the same (albeit talented) family has won like 10 times is ridiculous to me. The lore around "popular" duck breeds is wild.

  • Been on a kick to find some soul vibey female singers. A weirdly specific genre, but it's got some good vibes.

    Example Artists: Couch, Rijah

They're really small, from what I gather, so that's always cool.

  • I need a "How to Fu....nction as a human being in a techno corporate hellscape" video...

  • Agreed that's a driving factor. However, the article says that even richer people are dying earlier, which suggests they controlled for poverty.

  • I'm curious about what's driving the increase in mortality between 2012 and 2022 (what they looked at) and how much COVID drove that vs something else.

  • Why, that's LL Bean!
