  • You should look up the Zaria of the Dawn case. You need to make more than inconsequential edits for it to be copyrightable, and even then, only your edits are copyrightable.

  • Pro-tip: new rolls come with a little paper tab on the end of the tape to make it easy to find the start. Once you’ve removed that, started the roll, and you’re ready to put the roll away, throw it away instead and get a new roll next time.
