  • Well now we’re talking about a mutiny and I don’t see why the officers would side with a CMO committing mutiny, if anything they’d almost certainly side with the captain. We would need an elaborate plot to substantiate the CMO successfully rallying star fleet officers to commit a mutiny.

    The captain can simply relieve the CMO for cause, promote another medical officer, and that would be that.

  • There are 1.3 billion people in China and you can read the report to see their satisfaction with a variety of metrics from the indifference of local officials to their participation in public health programs, over the past however many years

    I hope you understand that even a 5% disapproval rate for something in China is still somewhere near 70 million people. There are only 11 million uyghurs in China. Do you not see how if you add up all the people who approve and disapprove you get the same ballpark numbers the study is claiming?

    In the area of automative regulation America is the only developed nation to have increased traffic deaths over the past decade or so. You can go verify that fact.

    So when it comes to seeing China implement a basic automative regulation, it is indeed a “must be nice” situation.

  • Well, the US is very nice to corporations which is why they’re often left to self regulate, are regulated by former industry insiders, or are barely regulated through fines and settlements

    So yeah I suppose in this regard China is not being nice but being nice doesn’t effectively regulate corporations. This is in fact a good example of a functional government doing its job

  • She’s a bare naked political opportunist who has been doing a continuous press tour about being betrayed by maga and having her life endangered by Trump.

    She has dodged all questions about her complicity, no reporters have meaningfully pushed her on anything (though we may have different standards for what constitutes good journalism), and we see nyt using and concluding with mtg’s own premise of evolving toward respectability

    They, nyt and cbs are egregious examples, are creating the very appearance of respectability she is probably not only paying to create but also serves as another avenue to drive negative attention toward maga and Trump

    What’s being covered are conjured media stories simply caring about her for no reason that conclude she is being rehabilitated in some manner.

    This is manufactured propaganda to keep her in the spotlight and rehab her image in what I can only imagine is a stupid attempt to fuel anti trumpism
