  • Hate ai companies, not the technology. openai, midjourney, et all, should all be sued into the ground for the massive scale theft of intellectual property and other harm they've done to artists and other creatives.

    however

    there are actual good use cases for this technology. Personally, I'm fond of using it to turn my drunken ramblings into coherent notes for later works. This would be totally fine to do, if the ai's that were any good were made ethically and responsibly.

  • So I had the misfortune of hearing a joe rogan podcast the other day. It was quite insufferable before I even knew who it was. They were talking about some cool science stuff for a couple minutes, then spent the next half hour bashing the scientific community and making ad hominem arguments about them.   • Number of hours? Can't be certain because of ye olden times before steam. On steam though I've got a couple thousand hours in both Warframe and Factorio.

    Oldest game that I'm still regularly playing? The Guardian Legend. Every six months or so I get the itch and start grinding runs with the illusion that I'll be a speedrunner someday.
