    Yep, him and Schumer's leadership elections were in January 2025. Its voters was elected reps, and at the time the current DNC under Jamie Harrison would have bankrupted state parties if their reps didn't vote neoliberal .

    The DNC chair election was feburary 2025.

    It's voted on by the ~420 voting members of the DNC, they pivoted away from neoliberalism, and picked a chair who dumped all the "victory fund" money back on state parties. That was the cudgel neoliberals (specifically Schumer and Jefferies) used to get elected, it's gone now...

    You're talking about DSCC and DCCC like they're important, try to go find mentions of anyone giving a fuck about them prior to February 2025.

    I spent winters shoveling literally tons of manure onto a field by pitchfork until I went to college. So deep it was literally just a field of shit by the time it was down, a solid 3-4 inch coating for acres.

    We still fertilized multiple times a season on top of that. But that was land that had been worked for generations. For a couple of years, replacing nitrogen is fine....

    Because people haven't been growing crops there.

    What happens in a decade when all of that is used up? That's my entire point, it's kicking the can down the road. If someone doesn't think this is a giant issue, they're in denial or haven't really thought thru what's happening.

    There's a reason hillbillies don't like trespassers, it take a lot of land to feed a human.

    Most people don't just plant straight in the ground, they bring in "top soil" that's already fertilized.

    If you just clear out grass and plant veggies, you might get a couple seasons without it, but probably not. Grass is terrible for soil quality and whatever you get isn't going to be much.

    But even if you bring in top soil and do a raised bed, eventually the soil depletes, and you can either add fertilizer or replace the top soil which is the same thing.

    You'll get something but not a lot, so especially in the context of a garden with a high enough yield to effect a grocery bill, it's going to need a huge amount of land without fertilizer, meaning a lot more water and a lot more labor.

    Even if you're trying to grow in harmony with a nitrogen fixer that's just part of the equation.

    I just don't think most people have an half acre of more land to devote to a garden without fertilizer. But some people do.

    That's not going to change the price of fertilizer, growing your own is going to get expensive too.

    Like, shit is accelerating the shortage, but it was happening anyways. And there's legitimately no solution. There's things we can do to mitigate it, but it's just kicking the can down the road at this point.

    Like, you know how people always said "we grow enough food, it's a distribution problem"...

    That's not going to be true for much longer, the planet just can't support anywhere near this amount of humans without fertilizer, and we're running out. We need multiple kinds, and the ones we can "make" are made from finite resources.

    Shits going to get rough, and gardens are not going to fix it.

    The Motion Picture Production Code was a set of industry guidelines for the self-censorship of content that was applied to most motion pictures released by major studios in the United States from 1934 to 1968.     The modern ratings system evolved from the Hays code, the fact that it was just the Hays code is why things were so uniform back then. The fact that there was no enforcement is why MPAA was standardized...

    Like, there was (and still is) rules about acceptable behavior and a ratings system to reflect what something contains.

    A cartoon with a Y7 rating won't contain as much as PG13 and neither will have as much as R rated. If something is "unrated" it means it doesn't meet R guidelines, or that it was just not rated but would have gotten a rating.

    Like, it seems like you're just unaware of ratings systems, despite them existing in every country I'm aware of.

    Amazon "guarentees" the lowest prices, and that's true.

    If a product is sold on Amazon, that's the lowest price.online. The manufacturer can't even sell it for lower on their own website.

    Because Amazon uses AI scrapers to constantly check, if it detects a lower price, it will "you may be overpaying for this item" in big red letters next to it, or even removing the buttons that let someone buy it.

    So before they can lower the price anywhere, they have to lower it on Amazon. Because they need the volume that comes with Amazon sales.

    Amazon's "lowest price guarantee" just ends up meaning they keep people from getting it cheaper anywhere else. But for an individual, each individual purchase is a better deal at Amazon.

    To win we need a drastic boycott where everyone just toughs it out and pays a little more for slower shipping to buy direct again. The manufacturers will make more per unit, and eventually will be able to stop playing Amazon's game.

    And that would leave Amazon with just Temu slop, and actually financially impact Bezos.

    All we gotta do is get people to think big picture, we could bankrupt Bezos in less than a year.

    Large corporations don't undercut small businesses because vertical integration allows them to take smaller profit shares

    They intentionally lose money in some markets so that small businesses get run out of business.

    Then, after the small businesses are gone, they raise prices higher than the small businesses were to begin with.

    It was a problem when large corps "drove down prices", because that was them running everyone else out of the marketplace.

    It's why I hate the term "enshittification", it starts identifying the problem after it's too late to fix. That's why companies are fine doing it, but the time shit gets worse, there's no other alternative.

    We don't roll back to before it got shitty, we need to roll back to "when there was competition".
