  • Yes but the monster also gives you food and a nice box to poop in, plays with you, and does all the chores, work, and bill paying so you can live carefree.

    Fair trade.

  • You remember Highlander 2?

    Yeah, me neither.

Editing to add: Eragon. The only, one singular, thing that film got right was the opening scene. The rest of the film was an epic, blot-out-the-sun middle finger to the book and the fans.

  • Well, I don’t let my cat sit in my office chair, but I’m perfectly content to sit in it myself whenever I feel like.

  • My cat Noodle has a petting spot - one very specific area of the living room floor where she allows pets to happen. When we’re playing and she senses that pets are imminent, she will dart over to the petting spot and flop over on her side. Petting may now commence.

Also, she has developed the habit of jumping on top of me in the middle of the night and licking my nose. I haven’t decided if she’s bored and wants attention or if she’s checking to see if I’m dead so she can start eating me.

  • I write and release music. It’s not spectacular music, but it’s mine and I give each track my best before I send it off into the world. It earns me dust; I do not expect to ever make any kind of meaningful pay from it, and that’s fine because I don’t do it to make money. I do it because it’s in me to do it, because I love the craft, and I love the challenges of learning audio engineering and production.

In a past life I was actually a professional musician. I made money playing, giving lessons, conducting, a tiny bit from writing but not much…and as fun as that was it’s really a grueling lifestyle with lots of time away from home and I don’t have it in me to do that anymore. And no one wants to see my squishy dad bod prancing around on stage.

Now I work a quiet job in a materials testing lab. I spend my day torturing little pieces of metal and my evenings in my studio at home. Only one or two people at work know about my former life as a musician and are aware of the music I record. Most people just see me as the little happy lab rat that I am and I’m completely okay with that.

  • You don’t quit the game. The game quits you.

  • When I was nine another kid taught me how to make this really cool paper airplane that looks more like a shuttle than an airplane and flies pretty well too. I still make them when I’m bored, and when my kid is old enough I’ll teach him too.

  • “Don’t”

  • I don’t know that 120 people offers enough genetic diversity for a species to thrive. The population would, the way I see it, increase for a while and then start to collapse.

  • My old Motorola Razr. I used to like flipping it open like a Star Trek communicator, but it was also just a cool little phone.

  • Only one way to find out, Nakey Butt.

  • Mr. T was charismatic, had a colorful look kids wanted to imitate, talked in a way that got people’s attention, but most importantly, he was a fundamentally good person who did a lot of charity and public service work and who just happened to have a “tough guy” image. He made it cool be both strong and kind.

We need more Mr. T’s and fewer Andrew Tates these days.

  • “No, his mind is not for rent

    To any god or government,

    Always hopeful yet discontent,

    He knows changes aren’t permanent,

    But change is.”

    Rush - Tom Sawyer

  • Epic Rap Battles of History isn’t exactly dead but they don’t post content nearly as much has they used to. And there are some bona-fide classics on there worth watching again and again.

  • Frosted vanilla creme pop tarts.

They were a staple in my house growing up so they were something of a comfort food. Always had a box on hand at all times, they were especially good toasted and covered in butter.

They were discontinued, then brought back for a year or so, then vanished again. I fear I shall never look upon one ever again.

  • One evening my girl and I were enjoying an evening alone, I’m doing my thing, feeling great, when she starts laughing for no reason. Well apparently there was a little dried piece of booger that was stuck to one of my nose hairs that I was unaware of, and as I was breathing it was darting in and out of my nose, and once she saw it she couldn’t ignore it. I’m like, what? And all she’s doing is laughing and pointing at my face. And because she’s laughing I start laughing too, which I guess made the booger behave even more erratically, and now she’s laughing harder and without warning she aggressively grabs my nose and shouts GOTCHA leaving me to wonder how an evening of lovemaking became a game of Got Your Nose.

Finally she manages to explain, in between high-pitched wheezes of laughter, about the booger and she gets up to go wash her hands, and now we’re both laughing too hard to continue. Mood’s gone. Booger stole the show. Think we just put the tv on and fell asleep after that.

And that’s my sex booger story.
