  • This is only about leaving Shitter they already have about 3.5k posts on Mastodon. Still took them long to leave Shitter, but I thought you might be interested in the extra information!

  • If you don't want to engage in a civil discussion, that's alright with me. But if you run out of arguments, just stop commenting?

  • Yeah, I absolutely agree. I guess this is one of the reasons these "inter left" discussions are so exhausting.

  • I see where you are going. Well, how anti Zionism and antisemitism are interconnected is subject to the current scientific debate and I won't start a fundamental discussion on this topic with you. What is important for me in the end is, that I am standing against the left that is openly sympathizing with the Hamas.

  • Me

[...] people openly supporting Hamas, wearing the red triangle etc. For me it is only natural to fight this form of anti semitism. That makes you a "Zionist" on Lemmy [...]

    You

It does not make you a Zionist on Lemmy. You are a Zionist in real life.

    Again you

You said supporting Hamas is antisemitic. Why are you crawling back to the word Zionism now?

    Me???

  • "Opposing Hamas makes you a Zionist", can you confirm that statement?

  • I mean "leftist organization" is a weird term and I would more speak of currents. And there is definitely the Antideutsche or Anti-Germans.

The German left, at least the loud one, is publically dividing between this topic. On demonstration you see a lot of people openly supporting Hamas, wearing the red triangle etc. For me it is only natural to fight this form of anti semitism. That makes you a "Zionist" on Lemmy, as there is often only "anti genocide and pro genocide" in online discussions. But the world is very complex and there is a large continuum between Islamic and Jewish ethno state philosophy.

  • A simplified world view is really tempting sometimes. What if I told you that fighting anti semitism and being pro genocide are two things that can be distinguished from each other?

  • I don't browse local tbh. My instance is just a vehicle for accessing the threadiverse, I'll change it once a year. Even if I browsed local I probably wouldn't see that message through the Voyager app. Didn't know this feature exist until now!

  • I don't think it's just the ignorance of consumers. Big tech knows a lot about how to activate our endorphine centers. Things seem to be great and then gradually enshittify. It's a bit like the metaphor of the frog in hot water.

  • Tbh, I like their posts and I don't see as much double posts. When I look at the up vote I feel like I am not alone. Maybe I am naive, but I think they are doing their best contributing to the Threadiverse; as you already said - there is no karma here.

  • But it means my computer has to be always on doesn't it

  • I'm not an immutable guy, but from what I heard it's more of a way to address programs and dependency hell, less the user modifying system code. Correct me if I am wrong

  • I like both. I am allowed to work 4/5 days from home, but I choose to only do 2. I commute to the office by bike in 15 minutes which gives me a fresh start into the day. I can concentrate better in the office. It just doesn't feel nice to me finished my work and moving 2 meter to sit on my couch, I like the feeling of getting home.

The 1-2 days per week I really appreciate, I usually WFH Mondays and Fridays. I can understand everybody who prefers staying home. However I really see a benefit in seeing your colleagues from time to time, I hate meetings and headphones.
