  • I hate all age verification checks, I even hate Steam's when they present me that dumb number drop list before I see a game's store page based on its content. If you know my age, you don't need to ever fucking ask me. If I've told you, with a straight face and no malicious intent that "I'm over 30" "I'm over 30" "I'm over 30" then STOP ASKING ME FOR MY AGE!!

    Now something I don't see some people talk about is that, there are people out there who have lied about their age. It's nothing new. You've done it. I've done it. We've collectively been building a platform for this to eventually be coming and we're paying some of that price.

    With Discord going Public in March and this rolling out in March, it goes hand and hand.

  • I am not giving up on the internet, but I have slowed down quite a lot in the past 5 years. I check very few sites anymore, I no longer game on multiplayer. In fact, I was even content being on a 50MBps internet plan. But, my ISP stupidly got rid of that plan so I find 100MBps too much for someone who isn't going to utilize all of its speed. I don't need anything beyond 100MB anyways.

    Been online for over three decades, the internet has helped me in many ways, but it also has made me feel the worst of ways. Like having incredulous bouts of depression that yearns for yesteryear's internet because today's internet is all noise. It's just noise and nothing truly innovative has been made that is interesting. Everything that gets made, all serve means to increase advantages for those that cause problems.

    If it hasn't happened already yet but I predict within the next 5 years, all I'm going to care about is just streaming and e-mail checking. I'll just join the old crowd.

    The difference with Windows advertisements and Linux advertisers is, I can close and ignore the Windows advertisement. With Linux, you fuckers just follow and hound on everyone that so much even mentions Linux and how they talk about THEIR computing preferences.

  • No matter what, I kept getting shadow-banned.

    I've been banned hundreds of times on Reddit so whether it was my fault is either here or there. It's hard to know some of the time, because of how rabid the users on Reddit are. People will do so much shit to you just to get the final say, up to revenge reporting to have you banned. So because of being banned on Reddit so many times, the only chance I ever have of getting back on there, is obviously an IP change with a different ISP. VPN doesn't work. Every method I've done before to work around being banned, doesn't work.

  • Microsoft Windows.

    Someone posted about a link where I can check for Linux compatibility on my games, it's like protondb or something. And, I started to look up games that would work for Linux should I decide on switching. As soon as I found that three games weren't going to work 100% on Linux, particularly Mint for example, then Linux was not going to be my choice.

    I built my computer with the purpose in mind, that it was going to run nearly all of my games without a hitch. It does that. Windows does that for me. I can deal with software alternatives which was another thing I research if this theory of switching was plausible. But, I couldn't deal with the idea that not everything I want to simply run, won't do that on my Linux distro of choice, not without going through a lot of steps first. Whereas with Windows, it's a matter of clicking this and it's there for me.

    People need to respect the preferences of others. There are people out there, who value their time and patience. When they want things to run, they want what it will take for that thing to simply run on without going through any hoops to do so.

    I've pirated my Windows copy, so I didn't give Microsoft a dime. In fact, I encourage people to pirate Windows than give Microsoft anymore money than they have. Linux may have some advantages and I like it that it is there for people to go to for whatever reason. I just hate it when there are people who're going around just telling people what to use because they use it.

  • Not being the ideal consumer that they want me to be. I hear so many fucking commercials, I've seen so many commercials and not once have I ever bought anything from what they advertised or subscribed to what service they marketed. I sometimes will even harass the marketers back if I'm annoyed enough.

    They think I've got so much disposable money laying around, to be buying and subscribing to what they want me to. Well, I don't and I pick what I want to buy. I may buy the same shit at the grocery stores, I may subscribe to alternatives or take advantage of trials and deals before I cancel them when it comes time for the full price of subscription comes. But they don't have me that hooked.
