Agreed. I've trained my cats to come to a bell, because it's easier than finding them when it's vet time. I found a bell that's loud enough to be heard across the house, and I ring it before giving them breakfast/dinner and before any treats.
One of them doesn't come consistently, but that's because she only eats when she's hungry and doesn't really care about treats. She's also not the problem child, so it's not a big deal.
The problem child, however, has recognized the bell, and is trying to find other ways to make a bell sound when he's hungry.
I run into that sometimes, where they decide that it's all the same material right? And then make the floor texture the same as the wall texture, so holes in the wall are completely invisible.
Cracked my skull, gave me a subarachnoid hemorrhage (50/50 on surviving those), cracked a couple ribs, lacerated my spleen, and broke my pelvis into eight pieces. Spent a week in ICU, then another two weeks in a nursing home and couldn't stand on my own two feet for almost a year, went through the PT to relearn how to walk, then COVID hit.
Found out that most of my friends were fake, outside of my partner, one person offered to help drive me to doctor's appointments, and one person showed up a couple of times to chat through the year. Nobody brought food, or offered to help with the housework, or wanted to help with errands. Not even my family or my partner's family.
Because of the whiplash, I've since developed bone spurs in my neck that are pressing on my spinal cord and between that, the pre-existing brain tumor, and the TBI, I've not been able to hold down steady employment since.
Well, you only need the light when it's burning lowOnly miss the sun when it starts to snowOnly know you love her when you let her goOnly know you've been high when you're feeling lowOnly hate the road when you're missing homeOnly know you love her when you let her go
And if all that sounds too intimidating, you can also consider a nude bath house, spa, or sauna. It's a much shorter period of time, and a much smaller number of people, but you can still get the experience of just casually chatting with strangers au naturel. The one I went to had a lot of old people, but everybody was super chill.
Agreed. To expand on this, I'd also add that complementing choices is often better than complimenting their body. Edit: particularly if you don't know them very well.
For example, the "that outfit makes you look good" really is implying they didn't look good before, but also "I love that sweater" is complimenting their stylistic decisions, regardless of what their body looks like.
Focus on the person and their personality, not their biology.
Drives me insane. Like, you mother fuckers aren’t here to get a grade, you’re here to learn this shit so you know what to do when you see it in whatever hospital hires your dumb ass.
This is happening because the job market is absolutely fucked. Students are under the impression that grades are what will drive job prospects, because nobody is hiring on merit any more.
My SIL has been a nurse in the cardiac surgery department for nearly a decade, and even her hospital is now using AI to screen potential new hires.
Its been a couple years, but I remember my map path thing showed I had to go into a pink hostile area. I figured it was a stealth mission, but I couldn't pull it off and gave up.
Ehhh, the sidebar makes it sound like a super depressing place, but thanks!
