  • Hi aguacat! Thanks for going in to detail. It seems like most of those things are legacy items, (except for the sleep timer) that came from before the fork. In particular, the settings I have found as a really odd design decision. The app needed a lot of work and most of these things are have been much lower priority to stabilize, it is coming up on a year that I forked it. There may be some tickets for osme of these and if you would be so inclined, I'd be happy to have some of these open on a github issue.

  • We have fixed several of those bugs with the latest release as I know this has been a long standing issue. We've found the root cause for several of these and applied patches. Depending on what version you used last, you might be pleasantly surprised.

  • Hopefully google doesn't block android auto access in the near future.

  • What ux changes are you looking for?

  • I've been getting a lot of help lately so the community support is what is making it better.

  • Me too! Glad to hear it!

  • We have patched a lot of those bugs so not sure if we found all the edge cases.

  • Glad to hear it!

  • yeah unfortunately been over a year and no response from the original dev. I forked this late last summer to keep it alive.

  • Not familiar with sonos but there is nothing in the app that is specific to sonos so you are probably not blind. In general, it only streams from your phone to a bluetooth or (if using the gh variant) chromecast which needs work.

  • That's a bummer. we have a issue open for the going idle part. I have not been able to track down or replicate it on my end but if you want to open or add to that issue to get more details that would be helpful. My suspicion is that it is a combination of particular configuration of settings that cause it.

  • an excellent community contribution!

  • It was what I ended up with years ago after google play died and I went to self host. It was the easiest to stand up, configure, and get going not to mention back up and restore. Also, extremely lightweight. Nothing terribly fancy but the dev has made solid and continuous progress for years. I have seen some other back- ends but I'm hesitant to switch when this does everything I need. I also run it on a pi.

  • Am I the only going back to IRC? I'm not a gamer so I just use it for chat and setting up my own irc was straight forward. Even set up a webui for my friends who don't know how navigate irc through regular clients.

  • damn that looks great. I can't wait to get a decent linux phone!

  • 👍🏼

It's nice that they have a demo server. I use jt for testing sometimes.

  • I use Picard to tag my music as well but it is really only responds to the servers subsonic api response at this point. I would need to dig into it a little more to get you a definitive answer.

  • Do you mean genre tags? Mine are a hot mess so I don't really use them, because of that, I have not really spent any time looking at that part of the code so I would need to review before what your proposed change would do.
