  • If you are interested in learning about queer representation on TV there's a great YouTube channel from Matt Baume who talks about the history of it. He also wrote a book about it: Hi Honey I'm Homo

    If you haven't looking into it there was a surprisingly a lot of good representation in the 70s. This all dropped off in the 80s because of Reagan.

  • At the art fair by my house is a lady who makes gourd earrings, birdhouses and instruments. She even wears a gourd hat. She grows them all herself. I tried to grow a luffa this year inspired by her. It failed because they are hard to germinate. Next year I'm doing a bottle gourd

  • That's why I love forum like Lemmy. You can get really deep on single topics that interest you. It's funny to click on a person though because you can see their odd interests. The best is when someone has porn and normal comments on one account. Really full transparency

  • If you need some places to be alone to recharge either while eating or other times during the day. There will be lots of those around but might need to look for them but they are usually in libraries or quiet buildings.

    It seems like you love computers, networking, self hosting and other technology related hobbies. You may be afraid to meet new people but the good news if you give yourself the opportunity these hobbies will have lots of people to do these things with. If you are doing anything in that field of study these people will be in your classes and the same thing if you join a group or club in that area. These will be your people and you will have lots in commons. Search out and find them
