The default Lemmy web UI does not present this option, nor does Photon.

I freed up a couple of spare brain cells on that sort of thing back in the day once it was discovered around the schoolyard that Windows 95 (in addition to Office and a couple of other M$ products) would happily accept a CD key of all ones: 111-1111111. I don't think this was applicable to the OEM versions, though. Windows 98 meanwhile would take a key of 12345-12345-12345, etc.

I still have the Windows 2000 MSDN CD key memorized. From XP onwards, the... alternative... activation methods did not require knowing license keys anymore.

One wonders what it was like to be a member of mankind in an era when all you had to memorize was actually useful information.

So far I've been getting the most use out of my Qidi X-Max 3, although it appears they're no longer producing or supporting it. It predates the current multi-material schemes but it's been able to print every funky high temperature engineering material I've tried to throw at it thus far. I'd really like to get some kind of tool changer machine to replace or supplement it at some point but it doesn't seem like any of those are worth a damn for high temperature materials.

In the meantime I've just been using it to make stuff like this and driving myself bats with manual filament changes instead.

Why does the "Fuck AI" community have more than 30 moderators?

Quite a large number of the listed moderators appear to be inactive based on their post histories, i.e. not interacting with anyone or anything for months or in some cases years. Moderator hierarchy is strictly linear on Lemmy. You can remove anyone who was made a mod after you but your account is subordinate to any mod who held the position before you. Inactive moderators who were promoted before any of the current crop therefore can't be removed without administrator intervention and it's likely that A) no one can be bothered, and B) if there's no compelling reason to kick them due to misbehavior or anything it might be impolite to do so in case they ever feel like coming back.

If I shill mine again so soon you guys are going to shoot me. But I make knives because I think it's neat and I enjoy being able to create something both useful and tangible, especially in this era of trying to turn every fucking thing into "AI."

It is staggeringly unlikely I'll ever be able to find enough buyers in my particular niche to quit my day job, and even if I do I'd doubt I'd be able to crank out product fast enough. That's still not stopping me from doing it, though. You couldn't stop me, even with a brick wall.

At the beep, it has been 7 months and 19 days and Amazon still has not found my camera.

Beep.

I know where it is. You know where it is. Amazon shipped it loose in its manufacturer's packaging which plainly broadcast "steal me" to the entire universe and their third party totally-not-an-employee contractor delivery driver stole it. But they'll totally refund me any day now. Juuuuust as soon as it makes it back to their warehouse!

Instead I charged back my credit card. I'll never make a big ticket purchase on Amazon ever again.

It costs $90 to recoup the R&D expenses incurred from developing a way to make a plastic keycap with no moving parts or electronic components mysteriously stop working three months after purchase, so we can deny your warranty claim on it. That was a very difficult feature to add, we'll have you know.
