  • They rushed this for very next day after event which is the biggest red flag in journalism. I remember I used to take 60 minutes seriously.

  • Does something happen if you do nothing?

  • Get stoned and play video games with my wife. We just found Unrailed 2 and it's been a journey.

  • The latter. People always quit too late - just do it, keep moving forward. Almost no one ever looks back and says "I wish I stayed a bit longer".

  • Why would economy crash for the rest of us if it's all mostly vc funding and funny money?

  • Or it's not going to happen. Name 3 bubble bursts since 2008. I think we're passed major financial bubbles in general and now the market just suffers by bleeding out the vulnerable in silence. There are no more dramatic bubble bursts.

  • Started watching since Ross started the Game Dungeon series and watching him develop hate for game killing real time to talking at EU Parliament - what a journey! Now if the rest of gaming community had this much care and spine.

  • Still overall net negative on the society. They'd have to raise billions to check out not a half of 1990s Honda civic

  • It's a tool that you need to learn. Try some of claude.md files people share online for your programming area as a starter. You still need to review what it does but just asking for it to create tests as it creates code does a lot to improve output.

  • I'm plenty familiar with anarchy but it's not a valid strategy for large systems. Some systems are better for small scales some for big ones, it's not a single shoe fit all.

  • Socialist of what kind? Socialist communism is as close to fascism as you can get without being explicitly fascist.

  • More content is good in a system like Lemmy which is designed around filtering. So continue posting!

  • Yes I do think giving them brainspace would be unethical but I'd agree with you that in practice is not impactful. That being said I imagine if employed at mass scale would have positive effects on our society. Attention matters in how society develops.

  • That's the great thing about decentralization - we can migrate very easily!

  • It has gotten much better. More content and general activity and nutjobs at .ml and similar got mostly isolated from the rest of the network.

I think fediverse is really shaping up as a strong reddit alternative. Most pop subjects are mirrored here and the vibe is very similar to early reddit so there no real reason to go to reddit other than super niche communities like of a tv show or something.

Most props go to the lemmy.world team as it kept a consistent big sane network running that keeps the project stable! If .world never happened I think Lemmy would have remained cess pool of social rejects like most reddit alternatives like Voat or lemmy.ml

  • I would say that giving attention is a similar reward to giving money or power. It's better not to.

  • No. Not as long as the artist gets benefits.

There are billions of meaningful ways to entertain yourself. Don't be a sheep - it's your world.

  • Give most of it away to free software foundation and put couple million to an low yield ethical index fund and start packing for some traveling.
