It's not even only about prepared meals. Most food products you find in the super market are entertainment luxury. Popcorn chicken is not substance neither is frozen pizza or import hand grown mangoes from Japan - it's all entertainment in very literal sense of the word.

There is an ethical scale of how much we ought to sacrifice for this entertainment just like how much water we ought to waste on chat bots and if someone doesn't see how a hamburger is worse than an llm prompt I think we can safely discard their entire argument. Thats the bare minimum litmus test.

Common sense. Just look at your local grocery store or any restaurant - it's all entertainment not "survival sustenance". If you'd spent some time to actually classify this you wouldn't need any proofs, it's perfectly visible.

nah you're in a cult. I admit that LLMs are imperfect tools but to completely dismiss them is ludite, it's crazy. It's just a computer and computers are good. I understand the sentiment about billionaires and control and ecology but it is missing the forest for the trees. The tools need to be captured by us through open project that embrace LLMs rather than play this losing game with these fake-ass boycott that - realistically and statically speaking - will never yield to anything of value other than to produce toxic bullying this very thread's topic is displaying.

In general the AI ludites are so tiring. I wish this energy would be spent on something actually impactful like murdering animals for entertainment - yes thats your cheese burger - but these addicts are quick to defend their own addiction while sneer at other significantly less harmful ones.

It's fine but discovery still sucks and genrally it's very low effort. I'd recommend spending the first few hours finding the right profiles to follow as the general post quality is very low but there are gems worth finding.

Yes everyone's aware hydrogen is small, no one's contesting this but you still don't need freeze store just as you said proper containers. The issue you mostly hear of hydrogen leaking is from dispensaries like hydrogen gas stations not long term static containers.

If I had to date in China I'd be dating an AI bot too. It's still being mostly social status and matchmaker driven - it feels like 20th century. It's so sad.

That being said romantic AI chatbots are cancerous and while I'm very liberal here I do feel like as society we should look down on this. Maybe it's just a phase?

I know this is a meme but I think people look down on internet discussions too much. Obviously it depends on "arguing" type but reddit/lemmy is at least somewhat structured and depending on the community can be good faith and productive. For people who don't live in a big city finding a community to exchange more niche thoughts and opinions (e.g. operating systems, design decisions etc) is incredibly difficult.

I have a related anecdote of being an assistant to older people in IT classes and intellectual starvation is a very big deal. Once people settle down, move further out of the city it's hard to find discussions on their interests without internet comments. The real issue is Facebook groups which are often the only forums available to these people, and they are not fit for scratching this itch for intellectual stimulation as it's design precisely for the opposite of that. This might sound silly, but old people need Lemmy.
