    1. No dirt or excitement
    2. No long John silvers
    3. No oysters
    4. Nothing that's alive
    5. Nothing with a face

I now eat oysters, and I cans mind over matter eating shrimp that have not been deveined as long as I don't see it, and I've beaten a few of the "face" foods (e.g., if there's like a whole pig at a luau I could eat a piece now, but probably not like FROM the face).

Really it's just oysters I solved, the others are pretty permanent lol.

  • This is an interesting thread to me. I have a strong negative feeling about not liking foods, so if there's something on the menu I don't like, I usually order it on principle.

I used to have 5 things on my "will not eat" list now it's 3.

  • For kids who are seemingly neurotypical, we do a one bite rule on which dessert is contingent.

It's fine not to like something, but you still get to try it. If the reaction is viscerally negative (rare) as long as it went in the mouth and got a chew then it counts even if it comes back out. My son had a texture issue with chicken breast early on.

We don't force much variety on the littles, but every now and again there new vegetables or dishes that are worth introducing.

  • Choose? No.

    Adjust over time? Maybe.

  • Toyotathon*

  • 😂

  • Maybe you also should HAVE* ;)

  • Idk for my kids appts they have used it for marking and measuring height. I'm sure there are other upsides.

  • "It's weird to get two dead bodies off this guy, but I'm not complaining."

  • Emacs: "Sure, fuck it, why not."

  • Good life advice: don't be a piece of shit.

That goes for how you treat others AND how you treat yourself (physically and otherwise).

That bowl cut is a self-hate crime.

  • Idk he never gave off the kind of vibes that made me want to listen to his advice. I watched a few of the videos especially when he was playing with vim and Doom emacs and they are fine for what they are and pretty relaxed, but there's just always been a sort of bumpkin feel where I'm more likely to watch what he does and draw my own conclusions instead of taking his recs.

  • Also good for plain old text manipulation. Bylaws for one of my orgs were like 15+ years out of date. Ask for a detailed read flagging any inconsistencies, check that all references point to real sections, and read the state code and related statutes on these 3 web pages, and provide a working draft and redline document with explanations for changes.

That was a 4 hour job that took about 15 minutes, and there is no risk because you have to read the output anyway at the end. It takes maybe three iterations on target sections once you do a full read-through, but as a human it was going to take two or three iterations no matter what.

Besides crafting homeassistant automations that was probably my best use so far.

Edit: But you're right, if you're using it to find out how many rocks to eat in a day or how many letters are in the items on your grocery list, or the best recipe for horse paste that's a waste of everyone's time.

  • I increasingly hate Lemmy for the way this seems to constantly happen on this topic and others. It's like users are caricatures of opinions instead of people. Which, hey, maybe that's prescient.

  • This is Lemmy and it says AI. Expect nobody to read and for panties to twist so hard their legs come off.

  • I also don't think you need anything beyond a very rough map which sometimes can be directly inferred from reading the book. Anything more is like cover art or illustrations: it competes with my mental picture while I read it and I don't prefer it.

  • I thought he was supposed to be a cross with Pepe or foul bachelor frog which made more sense.

  • Unless you're hermetically sealing your toilet lid with aftermarket parts, this number includes you.

  • Yikes
