  • Such is the struggle of being hydrated. Tbh it's one of the reasons I can never see myself become a "hydro homie".

  • You know another big thing I learned that a lot of people probably don't know is that a lot of cats just like flat out...don't drink water for some reason? Most of us are used to any given animal drinking water when thirsty. But a lot of cats just like... don't. I guess a wet food diet helps a lot with this because it's got water in it. Sure it's a little bit more hassle and expense over dry food, but not that much. Def gonna keep my guy on wet food for the rest of his life.

  • Ok. Your experience is valid. But you have to admit that what happened to your cat was an uncommon scenario and it is flat out just not going to happen like that a majority of the time. The person you responded to was not calling you out directly for speaking on your experience.

  • Really? This is wild. I'm in a hot part of the US and it's 95F/35C and humid daily here. I'm honestly really surprised with how much AC blasts here that heating still takes up the majority of nationwide energy consumption.

  • How in the world does such a comprehensive article not include JIS? It looks like it was once included but then it was removed due to poor citations. Wtf why was it not added back? It is very distinct from Philips and if you use a Philips driver on a JIS screw, it strips the shit out of it.

JIS screws are denoted by a small dimple in one of the corners of the + on the screw.

  • I learned about JIS this year when I got my first motorcycle. Honestly maddening how similar they look.

Screws were stripped into fucking circles by the person who tried to fuck with one part before me.

I've not tried to use a JIS screwdriver on a Philips head, but thanks for the tip!

  • Damn that's hardcore AF! Honestly, good for you! Takes some balls to do something like that when your caveman brain is going off with alarm bells.

  • Like I said, hard to do that indoors. Generally people just walking around with a ski mask indoors look suspicious af. And then wearing gloves indoors makes it difficult to do things like use your phone and eat.

  • My fingers and toes and nose would always stay cold in the winter, even if the rest of my body was so layered up that I was sweating. It's a bit odd wearing a ski mask indoors and wearing super thick gloves indoors is not always feasible either depending on what you're doing (eating, etc.). I compromised a bit with fingerless gloves, and it helped a bit, but not as much as I would have liked. And yeah eating foods with your hands just wasn't doable that way.

Idk. I'm one of those people that is always too cold. I live in a hot climate now and it sucks major major balls for riding a motorcycle (just learned recently), BUT I prefer this environment in every other circumstance.

  • I went through a period of time in grad school where this feeling was so strong that it was absolutely affecting my ability to sleep. My bed was in the middle of the room. The headboard was facing the wall. One side of the bed had a view of a window and the other side a view of the door. The bed didn't really fit in a different orientation because the room was an incredibly strange shape.

No matter what, I could not figure out which side to face to stop the very strong sensation of something being there. I kept having to open my eyes to "check" that nothing was there. I would toss and turn and struggle to make the feeling of being watched go away. I would sometimes swear I heard something breathing. Sometimes I would sleep on the floor...dunno why that felt like it would sometimes do something. Maybe I was able to orient my back to a wall or something idk.

Glad that finally went away. I think I was under extreme stress or something. I also had relatively frequent bouts of sleep paralysis. But I cannot tell you how terrifyingly strong that feeling of demons coming to get me was, even though my rational mind knew there was nothing there.

I had a fear of the dark as a child though, even as an older child. Some nights I would go sleep on my younger brother's floor because I would get scared. So I had always had some issues with this. But this was dialed up to like 11. One time I couldn't sleep for multiple days during this grad school period.

    Been fine since tho lol.

  • I read a fair amount of your comments, but did not see details about you moving away and the guardianship ending.

You keep responding messages like this to people. Put all of the relevant information in the OP. Excluding massive key details and expecting everyone to stalk your profile until they know every detail about you is not reasonable for conversation.

  • What is the difference, dude? If you are raising kids, just because they biologically didn't come from your sperm doesn't mean they aren't effectively your children now. Or are you one of those step dads who doesn't consider their children to be their real kids???

It sounds like you already are a father...

  • Aw that is incredibly lovely

  • Lmao I didn't think of that. To be fair this is the longest I have gone without getting a new tattoo since starting to get some in October lol

  • What's the story behind your ex gifting you a goodbye tattoo?

  • Hell yeah! Sounds epic AF

  • I got a musical rest symbol on my wrist to try to remind me to stop and take a breath too! Problem is I never really ended up mentally practicing with it lol. I like the idea tho.

  • Yes. Amazing.

  • Do you know the concept of kintsugi? It's a Japanese concept where when a dish breaks, you don't glue it back together with super glue. You glue it back together with gold. The dish is reformed, but its flaws are also on display as a thing of beauty.

Anyway, I know that gold is not necessarily something that would be conveyed well or stay that way in a tattoo.

But I am wanting a kintsugi pot with a bonsai tree growing out of it. The only color will be in the cracks or the pot. The rest I want in black and gray. I'm wanting it on my thigh.

Problem is I have been putting off getting more tattoos for the summer because you can't swim for like 3 weeks ish after getting one. But I'm a very impatient person!!
