  • Are you talking hurricane Milton or a different one? I have really not been thorough too many hurricanes, but Milton was absolutely wild to me. Couldn't even get gasoline for a solid week and some people I knew didn't even have drinking water. It felt mildly apocalyptic.

  • Jesus Christ what a shit cousin

  • Worth it

  • Honestly? I was around 26. I "discovered" alcohol alone, not in a social environment. I've always been a loner so social drinking wasn't a thing for me because I was never social.

Anyway, I was in grad school and had some temporary housing where there was a lot of food and crap people left over in the fridge and pantry. There were two things left over in the fridge that were opened that sparked my curiosity. No idea how old they were. But one was amaretto and I think the other was some wine. Got curious and tried a bit and enjoyed the effects. I had technically had alcohol many occasions prior, but not enough to get remotely near drunk or anything.

Spend the remainder of grad school occasionally binge drinking alone on the weekends to the point of vomiting. Carried on that habit for a little bit after but I hardly ever do that now.

I had actually never really drank socially until very recently. As someone with severe social anxiety, I was surprised at how helpful I found it in social situations. I only had a couple of drinks in these particular scenarios instead of getting piss drunk tho. And again, I am not social anyway so this doesn't happen on the regular. But goddamn. I didn't understand self medicating for anxiety until that.

  • I stated "button" or "gesture" in my post. You just use the gesture to go back is my point.

  • Back in 2022 when I upgraded my phone that died of old age, I was honestly kind of shocked that I could not use modern phones one handed anymore. Idk why everyone is just ok with needing two hands to operate their phones at all time????

I have something kind of like a pop socket on the back of my phone which helps a ton though but still.

  • Nothing makes me happy, though!

  • I picked up exercising pretty consistently since last March. I had never been able to do that so consistently before.

I honestly did it because people said exercise is supposed to improve mental health.

    Guess what it didn't do?

Yup, you guessed it. I also hate it almost every single time I do it. The one time I randomly really enjoyed my exercise routine I was in a bizarrely good mood already before I even started exercising that day. I felt so good like I was on drugs or something.

    Guess what it did instead?

Gave me chronic pain and fatigue that goes away if I skip my exercise routine.

  • I'm confused. Does the device you are using not have a way to go back? I have a phone, tablet, and PC, and all of these have a native "back" button or gesture or keyboard shortcut. I've not met a device without any of these capabilities since like 2008.

Legit curious what device you are using if you wouldn't mind??

  • I didn't think zombies needed food or water or that they would "die". Isn't the point that they are already dead?

  • Explain?

  • Yeah I was in a scenario some months back where people didn't have access to electricity or gasoline for nearly a week. Some didn't have access to drinking water. It was mildly apocalyptic. I had never seen anything like that and it was a bit stressful having to work but also not knowing if I'd eventually run out of gas before I would have access to it again. Felt like a mini-apocalypse.

  • Are bananas known to help that or something?? I try to eat enough veggies but it still happens. Weirdly sometimes when I eat less veggies it sometimes gets better (but it also sometimes gets worse).

  • My GI tract unfortunately just hates me I think!

  • I do that already :(

  • I am easily confused tbh, so it's not hard to do that to me.

  • There are just so many variables and ways to respond and interact that I manage to select the wrong ones all the time. In an ideal situation, I would stop and weigh the options of every single thing I do and say at any given moment in order to figure out the correct course of action. But that just isn't feasible. And I never realize when I'm supposed to stop and think until it's too late.

Like today, I wanted to keep my coworker informed about some case she will have to deal with in the morning. So I sent her a long text after work. But that was wrong and bad because it was bothering someone with a life at home. It was only hours later that I realized that I had an alternative. I could have handwritten out a letter on the case and stuck it where she would see instead of being invasive and bothersome and inconsiderate outside of the workplace.

I have learned some things over time, but sadly there are just an infinite number of scenarios and things and ways I'm supposed to interact and I just can't figure them all out.

  • Curious what you use scalpel blades for in your hobby?

  • How do I become a better person and stop doing it? I find I am constantly making mistakes and bothering people. I think a solution to this would be to stop interacting with people as a whole so my presence isn't harming anyone, but that often isn't really feasible. Like at work I often have to interact with people to do my job for example. Occasionally I have thought about quitting to save people from me, but then I wouldn't know how to pay my bills. And idk that I'd want to be homeless.
