  • Same here! I get to actually focus on things, my brain is clear, and I can actually think in a straight line. But boy do I get sleepy if I let myself. If I have a task, I'm fine, but if I take em without some kind of task or to-do item I just end up taking a nap. A wonderful, wonderful nap.

    Also, weirdly, my tourette's and OCD tics are majorly reduced for about 6 hours after taking my meds. I started taking them and only realized I had reduced tics when a friend mentioned to me that I wasn't doing a particular thing that had been plaguing me for a while. Made the connection after a few more days of paying attention, and mentioned to my doc. She thought that was wild, because ADHD meds are apparently bad for making tics worse

    Doesn't the covered farm land require the same thing? They're not hucking the panels out into the field and leaving them on the ground. They're creating raised platforms to put them on. And they're obviously going to have maintainence and cleaning and repair as well.

    I know it's more expensive in a parking lot, because that platform is taller, but to my (entirely uneducated on the subject) thinking, it seems like taller platform is the only real difference

  • I'm English the word "sorry" doesn't mean "I take responsibility for this event or action" it means "I am expressing regret that the event or action has occured," and normally comes with the condition of responsibility, but it's really just a way of expressing empathy or regret for the event. "I'm sorry this has happened" is not the same thing as "I am sorry I did this"

    Just a quirk of our language. In Spanish*, "I'm sorry" is translated to "lo siento" and literally means something along the lines "I feel" or "I feel this," an expression of literal empathy for the occurrence. You can also say "perdon" which translates closer to pardon, as in pardon me. I don't know the cultural context in Spanish speaking countries very well, but that one feels more like accepting responsibility, if one needs to be pardoned.

    *I am not a Spanish speaker. Take this with a dose of salt your cardiologist would be quite upset about.

  • Someone else already replied well, but I wanted to add that we're not entirely homogenous, either. Southern US culture still has multigenerational homes as a normal thing. It isn't the majority, but nobody really bats an eye in the South or Appalachia if you live in a home (or on piece of property with multiple dwellings) with your parents, grandparents, some cousins, an aunt or two, and that dude you brought over to dinner once that moved in at 14 when your parents found out his parents were shitty to him.
