Yes, it is nice that billionaires give away their money, it would be nicer if the people could choose how that money was spent instead of the billionaires.
How much less though? Would you still be ok than less than the bare minimum to survive? How about at the bare minimum to survive? How long should we be put at that level?
I ask because most suffering today is caused by decisions made by people in power, not natural cycles.
I might have misunderstood the context. I took OPs post to mean the sandwich will eventually become 15 dollars, not that they are currently. So I took the post I replied to as indifferent to that future suffering. Was I mistaken?
I see where you are coming from, but I don't buy it. I think we can sustain the our current level of population and pollute less in a sustainable manner.
Also, the laws required to reduce the population would really cut into happiness. And given the current political climate would probably be circumvented by the rich and used against the poor.
Everybody has their price.
