  • I kinda miss the idea that the kernel would run on literally any hardware it ever did support, but I totally get it, especially now that there's an emphasis on reducing attack surfaces.

  • The important part (which is missing by default) is opening different apps for different domains in the same scheme (such as https)

  • Honkai: Star Rail has a few of those, including right at the beginning where there's a choice not to get on the train. If you decide not to, credits roll,

and it describes your boring life and the main characters dying without your help. Then it returns to the point before the final decision and forces joining this time.

  • Anyone know which game?

  • So just double the power, water, etc. Right then.

  • Then you notice it's not a light bulb, it's a water bottle.

  • I do like serifs at least. Mostly because I hate not being able to tell Weird Al from Weird AI.

  • She's DSA, which increases the odds of decent policies and the writeup in the article sounds encouraging to me.

  • I like that their suffix which apparently means 'god' is crom

  • My favorite iteration of MySpace was the first one. No, not the social network with my friend Tom, I mean before that.

The domain was owned by a company that had jumped on the bandwagon of offering online file storage, that thing which is now called cloud storage. Much like OneDrive or Google Drive, etc.

MySpace offered 300MB for free, which was the largest I found at the time. Also the name actually made sense.

  • Upvoted, but I only partly agree. The way things are now you can order takeout from local small businesses, and there won't be consistent quality or speed or prices, but they're not a huge corporate machine. (At least at the endpoints). A big conglomerate moving into the space may put most of the local ones under.

  • Brazzers

  • You already do. As mentioned in the comments, X-Files had a crossover with Cops, which is our universe.

  • Battery battery battery 30 battery. 🙁

Battery battery 72 battery! (battery 2020!)

  • "Therrrre's a bathroom on the right!"

  • It's a system where the two highest in the primary to the general, regardless of party. Sounds good on paper but it's still possible for the vote on one side to be split, similar to the spoiler effect, resulting in two of the weaker party winning when there are nearly dozens of candidates of the stronger parties sharing the votes.

And yeah, we need better elections (and not Ranked Choice either. Score or Approval are simple to explain and don't have those effects where you can help someone you don't want to win by voting for those you do)

  • It's my personal opinion that a lot of the support for Ranked Choice specifically is astroturfing from groups that don't want real change. It's nearly as bad as First Past the Post and is still subject to spoiler effects for example. Also too confusing for voters to trust.

My preferences are for approval or score voting. With those there isn't a situation where voting for someone you want increases odds for someone you don't.

  • Huh, it's that buffer thing that I didn't know about and isn't mentioned in your link (maybe it's Forth specific?), I use an RPN calculator app, but everything goes on the stack, so "This" would be on the bottom and be popped off last.
