  • I don't know why Janet thought that the working conditions would be nice at the evil laboratory. It's not exactly evil to take good care of your employees now, is it?

  • Netanyahu is not feeling restrained in the least by Biden.

No. If he was, he wouldn't be doing the genocide thing.

He's feeling encouraged by geriatric genocidal Trump.

Presumably by your logic, individual gun shop owners are responsible for the all the deaths of children in school shootings in the USA, so you want to select as many Democrats as possible to stop the Republicans from blocking gun controls.

  • It's not irrelevant. He's a hair's breadth from becoming commander in chief and then it won't be 10% or 20% of Palestinians killed, it'll be all of them. Trump really is that lunatic and that genicodal. Next he'll deport or put into camps all the Muslims in America. He'll not murder them in the street, he has his friend Netanyahu to do that, the people who he promised to shoot are the leftists.

  • Trump is spending time and effort unravelling whose ceasefire deal? Biden's.

So like a true trump supporter, you blame the democrats for what the republicans are doing.

I didn't call you a political purist. You're really not. I called out your sham "voter purity" where you pretend to care about Gaza and then advocate for lunatic geriatric genocidal trump to win.

  • How is letting Donald "finish them" "best king of Israel" "Biden is trying to hold Netanyahu back, he should do the opposite" Trump (who admits he is on the phone almost daily convincing Netanyahu NOT TO CEASEFIRE) not going to be WORSE for Gaza.

If you even gave the tiniest of real shits about the Palestinian people, you would drop your sham "voter purity" nonsense and campaign as hard as you could for the one person who can possibly keep him from becoming commander in chief at a time when we really need an emotionally mature grown up in the White House: Kamala Harris.

  • Fun fact: Most frogs don't say ribbit, but one of the earliest film sound libraries included a frog that does say ribbit, and so that sound is the sound of a frog in many films and television programs, but not in nature documentaries which record their own audio.

So much of the English speaking world, far, far more broadly than the spread of that type of frog, think frogs typically say ribbit.

If you watch a nature documentary about frogs, you'll hear a vast array of different sounds, and this map will make much more sense.

  • Thanks for the encouragement, kind fellow former redditor.

  • I have nightmares where the borrow checker is shouting at me incomprehensibly about the literal bugs and I shoot them with the clone laser and the borrow checker stops shouting for ten seconds, but now there are two bugs for each original bug and Tim Berners Lee floats by saying it's not very idiomatic and I shouldn't expect to get to work on time if I just keep stopping along the journey to spend all my time cloning the bugs.

  • I remember solaris. It's not Linux, but it's definitely posix compliant.

  • ...or mint. Mint is good. It's based on Ubuntu, but greener and less commercial. Also less orange. And it'll feel moderately familiar without being even slightly the same.

  • Maybe check out the article we're posting under, or does Tim Walz not count as a Democrat in your worldview?

  • Some red states label cross dressing in front of children a sex crime, so they offer the chance to go to prison for wearing clothes they disapprove of! Not the easiest environment for exploring your gender.

  • Oh, the Republicans care. They care about their weird and nasty desire to opress trans folk a great deal.

  • I appreciate it. I think we might be able to agree that the genocide needs to stop immediately, and also that if she wins, Kamala Harris needs to make it an absolute top priority as soon as she gets into the oval office!

  • It was straight after you seemed to be criticising "vote blue no matter who" and appeared to be equating voting for Harris with voting for Netanyahu, which sounds a lot like advocating not voting for Harris to me. Certainly it's how a bunch of self-declared "leftists" argue right before they show their true colours and advocate for actions more likely to bring about a Trump win. But no, true, you didn't actually get that far.

prole clearly had the same impression about where you were coming from with their response. I didn't push it because you pretty immediately said you would be voting for Harris, but I think I was right to bring a bit of balance, because it all seemed a bit one sided about which candidate supports Netanyahu and the world in general needed reminding that Trump is pretty vocally supportive of the genocide in Gaza.

I take your point, though, because I think I did treat you as if you were advocating for abstention, which you didn't explicitly do, but to be fair, neither did I explicitly accuse you of it.

I do think we should chalk this one up to us both reading a bit more into what each other were saying than what was actually said. Either way, I apologise for making you feel criticised for things you didn't say.

  • I like the extra g. Thanks for keeping it. The world could do with more superfluous g in it.

  • “He’s doing a good job,” Trump saidabout the Israeli leader. “Biden is trying to hold him back, just so you understand, Biden is more superior to the VP. He’s trying to hold him back, and he probably should be doing the opposite, actually. I’m glad that Netanyahu decided to do what he had to do, but it’s moving along pretty good.”

  • Ah, thank you. I wasn't sure. However, I am sure that I don't want it going the wrong way up my personals.

  • I find that when you sign up for lemmy, you very much underestimate the extent to which the community is going to be invested in you sticking your dick in grape.

It's not a complaint, really, and it feels supportive, in a way, but it's definitely not what I was expecting. I mean, the whole area of soft fruit isn't really a theme I was considering exploring in any kind of sexual way, if you can appreciate where I'm coming from.

I take your point about the possibility but I'm still drawing a bit of a blank in the motivation department, if I'm honest.

The comment about grape seeds isn't making making me any more enthusiastic, I can tell you. No offence meant.
