I love all those "deleted comment" that keeps growing on Reddit. Users are waking up and destroying any contribution to that site, making it ultimately useless.
Legally it's currently required if the instance is hosted under a jurisdiction with such laws.
Size or being mainstream doesn't really matter with current legislations. All it takes is someone suing an instance over that and then owner would have troubles.
Selectively denouncing instances under these laws could basically dismantle the fediverse, specially if this laws end up being approved all across europe and north America.
That's why you should probably take down your representative and put there someone who is not a moron.
I think you articulated greatly something that's been around my mind for a while.
I've been a while thinking how migration policies should be revised in the EU, attending to human rights and seeking the best for everyone. Personally I think the route to take is improve the countries of origin, do whatever we can so people doesn't even feel the need to leave all their friends and family behind for economic reasons.
But as the EU is not addressing this because corporations profit from mass inmigration, the alt-right way of thinking about inmigration (which is basically genocide) is rising.
I used to keep one cd drive from the 90s in every built. Technically it could be understood as the same pc I just upgraded everything around the cd drive.
Last build I made I finally ditched it. I bought a case with bays just in case but I noticed that I haven't used it in the last 10 years so I just didn't install it.
Afaik you could buy airless. It has been a commercial product for decades.
