Mostly on my Lemmygrad and Hexbear accounts. But still like Lemmy.ml and the people on here. Not a liberal, conservative, or a fucking fascist! The masses need to wake up and see how much we have been and continue to be lied to by those that want us to stay dumb and hating each other!

  • I tend to still get pulled onto it via search results when the stereotypical specific answer to specific answers are basically from there. But Lemmy has really grown so much since I first found out about it a few years ago (one of the big ditch Reddit waves of course). Still not at the "magical answer to the very issue I need info on" levels as subreddits, but getting closer and closer everyday. Also really cool to get and reply to sources from other Fediverse projects that aren't Lemmy if you choose to follow them. Just so fun overall.

  • Agreed, my mom uses spreadsheets for things. Eventually just ended up paying for Office Home and Student 2024 because Calc confused her. Though when I helped her install Office, I did notice that she hadn't updated LibreOffice in over two years. Wish I had noticed before she paid for Office to see if the updates for Calc might have fixed her issue. Also wish I had installed OnlyOffice to see if it might have matched the "feel" of Excel better before giving MS money.

  • Maybe, might also be that since tech literacy has degraded since his leak. Which means that they don't care because they are overwhelmed with the information that they don't understand. Hell, I imagine that a lot of the press that where sent the information didn't fully understand.

    The average person likely defaulted to what they always do, and just assumed that the leak meant the feds had to stop and treat it like any other historic reveal (example being stuff like COINTELPRO and believing that it was bad but isn't done anymore). Hell, a shocking amount of libs honestly thought that Biden was going to bring Medicare for All (even though he said he wasn't) just because he said "the Democratic Party is the party of healthcare" a few times.

  • Looks like he just saw an Android icon pack around the same time default icon style was shifting towards that same look. And just turned it in with a fancy story about how he "played with many shapes" (then show some quickly drawn or even some he did try) "before it just hit me" vibe. I wonder how many in-house employees might have come up with the same and just overlooked.

  • I am in the south region of the USA, so humidity is for sure something I need to be aware of. But I can bring it inside for periods of time if it gets bad enough before I print, and my filament is staying inside anyway. My dad also made sure I know where the propane heater is located for quickly getting the ambient temps well above good ranges for prints. Just have to make sure to be super aware of making sure to keep the side door cracked while I am inside and the other safety stuff. Won't be an issue in a few months once we finish a big sorting out and purging of other things in the room it will eventually live in. So glad I won't have to worry about summer humidity in addition to heat.

  • Thanks! I will definitely make sure to give it a chance to get warmed up slowly before my next print. Once the space frees-up in the house, the next step will be putting an enclosure together for fumes (and get a dryer/heater for filament).

  • I mean 4Chan was possibly able to convince at least some amount of people that iOS 7 update somehow made their iPhone gain water resistance that would trip a hardware "smart switch" built into the phones. Just a numbers game that at least a small amount of people would believe something long enough to not really think about. Though the same can also be applied to convincing folks that other folks were dumb enough to be tricked. Which is still the same result. ¯_ (ツ) _/¯

  • Funny how the USA went nuts and strong-armed other Western nations to outright ban Chinese hardware and companies due to "security concerns." Yet allowed using a fork of Signal from a foreign nation, and those concerns were nowhere to be found. IOF is already known to be on par (if not better) with the USA in spying on and creating false flags globally. Yet the highest office chose to use it anyway. Which is beyond stupid given that a fork could have been made and ran by a USA company (or the NSA or whichever three letter agency) specifically for the same use. Hell those agencies already are and have been heavily funding the Signal Foundation.
