Inb4 “you can’t block ads on an iPhone”. Wipr2 for $4.99, independent developer, active on the Fediverse (Mastodon). uBlock Origin Lite for free, slightly less capable. Both only work on Safari. Adguard Pro is $10 and uses a “VPN” to block ads. Sometimes it doesn’t work. (It used to be $1, that’s what I paid for it.) I use Wipr2 now and I’ve uninstalled apps that serve ads like IMDb and YouTube. I just access them in Safari now.
Of course Advertise with uBlock Origin in Firefox is the better option. And it doesn’t autocorrect iPhone to something else like my iPhone just did when I tried to type the name of a rival platform. That’s not a typo, that’s an iPhone feature, and it can’t be disabled. (I can go back and manually fix it, but the fact that it does it at all is pretty bad.)
Ideally, my hypothetical child would privately laugh at children like this, but encourage them to play a real game like tag or capture the flag or something like that.

I haven't read it, but I understand the premise. I realise the person who voices the sentiment in the title literally has no mouth but must scream, but I feel like it could apply figuratively. Like "I have no mouth because the State took my ability to communicate online, and I want to rage about the way things are going, now that they finally affect me, but I have no means to do so." Like it's saying, speak up while you still can. I might be missing some nuance from the story, but again, I haven't read it.
Wikipedia says it's only 6500 words, so it would not take long to read it. The short story the film Predestination is based on is shorter or about the same length. The short story the November Rain video is based on (Without You by... I forget the guy's name...) is about that same length. I can read those in under 10 minutes.

Definitely agree. GenAI porn, too. As the spouse of an artist, I somewhat resent GenAI from taking work from artists, but when it comes to porn? Have at it. Put those abusive and exploitative companies out of business. The sooner the better.
The biggest argument I've heard against GenAI porn is that if we make an AI persona made for sexual exploitation, it can't consent and it can be made to do things no sane woman (or girl, because let's be honest, a lot of porn comms aim young) would ever consent to doing. I'm fine with that! Because the AI persona isn't real. It can do the things that no sane girl or woman would want to do. If it has a personality, it's a manmade personality, so you give it no moral boundaries whatsoever and no ego to bruise if it has to do some humiliating thing because it's a fictional character. The only issue I see with it is if people watching this stuff wants a real person to do the same. But if these immoral people can be satisfied by GenAI porn, which gets better all the time, I think that's a net positive for our women and girls — who make up half the population, by the way.

I suspect all porn sites host morally dubious content, and some of them host illegal content. But remember, legal porn includes pictures and videos of exploited and abused women. The lines are really blurry there. The only good moral position with porn is to not consume it. That’s easier said than done, but ethical porn is not common. (If you’re interested, seek out porn made by women for women. That’s not a guarantee, but they do tend to focus on the woman’s pleasure, not her subservience.) Not trying to preach, just clarifying.

How often do you get a new phone? My Galaxy S10 from 2019 still kicks ass. It doesn't do any of the Galaxy AI stuff, and I'm okay with that.
I really don't think the 24 hour thing matters all that much. If it's the first thing you do when you get the new phone, and then you start setting stuff up, by the time you want to go looking for stuff to sideload, a lot of that time's down the drain.
It also begs the question of — and magnifies the silence of the lack of answers to a deafening roar — what actually needs to be sideloaded, let alone what is so crucial the 24 hours is any kind of a pain point. Worst case scenario, you hold onto your old phone for those 24 hours, before wiping it and selling it (or whatever you do).

I had the actual ThunderTank play set when I was a kid. I think it was about a foot long? The back opened up. I have a Hot Wheels (or maybe it's Matchbox) of the ThunderTank (so it's like 2" long). Haven't looked at it that close, it's still sealed in the blister pack.
The Runabout shuttles on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine remind me of the ThunderTank so much. You got the two-seater cockpit up front and like a cargo area behind it. There's a bit more to the Runabout than that, but it still reminds me of the ThunderTank. Also, the Mako tank on Mass Effect, and the similar one in Mass Effect 4 (it had another name but I already forgot, that game was so half-baked but still fun).
The last one is probably true, though. Most Android users don't care about sideloading. Those who are being pressured to do so will face the 24 hour lock.
On the other hand, I'm an iPhone user who knows Android as well as anyone. So if I were to pick up, say a Pixel 11 Pro or a Galaxy S27 (so, looking at next year's lineup), the first thing I'm gonna do is hit that developer option to enable sideloading. I know where it is. I know how to unlock it. And I know the risks. In the meantime I'm gonna set up Nova Prime, I'm gonna put Poweramp on it, I'm gonna be setting up KLCK and KLWP (and maybe KWGT) and all the other apps. By the time I need to sideload anything, I'll have the important stuff out of the way and shouldn't have to wait that long.
AV2? The industry is barely getting support for AV1. Progress is always good, though.
The twins (or whatever they were) were always top tier for child characters. The voice acting wasn't the greatest with them sounding a bit whiny, but they were solid.
You gotta figure, Lion-O was "one of them" before the trip... assuming they're siblings (not sure if they said), Lion-O could have been a potential mate for Kit, if they were all allowed to grow up together. So with him being aged up all of a sudden, it's like he's still their bro/friend/playmate/peer/whatever but now he's kind of like their king ("Lord of the ThunderCats") they wanna help him get better. And of course their thing is underhanded/sneaky tactics and devices (kinda like Q in James Bond), they always have a trick up their sleeves.
So when you saw a phone made by an advertising company and a phone by a computer company, you chose to support the advertising company because you could wipe the phone, void the warranty, and install custom firmware with no guarantees? Wild. Cool, but wild.
I used Android phones for a while when I couldn't get an iPhone because of where I lived. But when I could get an iPhone, I got one and never looked back. I also have an older Android phone and it does a couple things my iPhone doesn't. It's smaller, it's lighter, it has a better keyboard, it has Firefox with uBlock Origin, it has an SD card in it with like 55GB of music... oh and it's Animal Crossing themed inside and out because why not, because you can do that with Android. It doesn't have cell service though. Not that I'd mind using it as my main.
But anyway, I'd rather have a phone by a computer company than an advertising company. I get why people like Android. I like Android. But this tribalism is weird.
