  • At first I was asking myself why he would admit this but then I realized Trump voters read this and think, "finally, they'll hurt the right people" and assume they will not be affected.

  • There’s a worldwide phenomenon of falling birth rates. I doubt it’s even mostly attributable to teen birth rates.

  • Okay 2 things.

    1. I haven't heard about any security issues with Rustdesk. Can you link to what you're referring to?
    2. It's strange to see someone concerned about security recommend RDP for remote access when it's a terrible idea to expose it to the internet. But maybe you mean to expose a VPN and then connect to RDP via that?

Edit: I see you have some info on the Rustdesk point elsewhere in the thread. I'll read up on that part so don't feel like you have to repeat yourself here.

  • No rustdesk but recommend RDP for remoting?

    I’m confused on both recommendations.

  • Everything you suggest seems self evident because you supply the evidence yourself.

It should be obvious to anyone who knows the first thing about how cell phones work.

Remember, you replied to me. You seemed quite proud of your comment and all your links. Unfortunately you completely missed the point.

  • Plenty of good answers here already. Just want to add a funny anecdote.

I’ve had the same USB charging brick for years, using it for different phones throughout that time. When I check the battery settings when it’s plugged in it “warns” me that I could be charging at a higher rate if I plug into a higher amperage charger. Yeah… I know. I WANT to charge slowly. It’s gonna be plugged in all night, what do I care?

I’ve had my phone for a year, 165 charging cycles, and it says it’s still at 100% health. I do cap charging to 80% and that hasn’t been an issue for my day-to-day usage.

  • Strange. You wanna be done so suddenly after being shown how obvious the solution is.

we can talk about how batteries aren’t removable in most phones anymore

So don’t buy those. Buy one with a removable battery….

whether or not the act of suddenly buying prepaid phones isn’t itself incriminating

    Go use cash, in person.

Again, use your imagination. I refuse to believe I’m smarter than you or anyone else. These seem like obvious solutions.

My incredulity that the person further up the thread couldn’t think of a simple solution to the issue they posed came across as rude. I’m not sorry about it. Think for a minute….

I think everyone in the thread ultimately wants women to be able to get abortions without fear of prosecution.

  • Yussssss

  • Don't care. Just vote.

  • Keep reading the thread. I’ve already addressed this.

Really getting confused as to how people read “no power” and think “phone off” instead of “no power”.

  • Not bringing a phone definitely is an option.

But I suggested a burner with forwarding so that handles comms to partner.

If you can’t function without your main device for special circumstances such as this, I guess you just can’t be helped.

  • Hm. I said without power. Not switched off.

Judging by the upvotes you’re far from the only one who forgot about simply removing the battery.

I suggested no power but not for the entire trip. Put the battery in when you’re sufficiently far from your house so as not to be associated with it. Remove it again when you’re sufficiently close to your house.

    Use your imagination. It helps.

  • Ok how’s the industry tracking a phone with no power?

  • You really can’t think of a solution to this?

  • Don't bring your phone.

Get a burner and set up call forwarding.

  • No. Not even before now since you could make as many accounts as you want on a given platform.

But especially not now since the cost of text content generation has dropped to basically zero.

  • I member

  • I see someone learned from 2000

  • Duke, a proudly antisemitic white supremacist, endorsed Trump in 2016 and 2020, but on his radio show yesterday, he slammed Trump's "subservience to Israel and to the Jewish lobby" and said only Stein would stand up to Israel and its "genocide" against Palestinians.

Weird… sounds like a lot of “leftists” on lemmy…
