The better models absolutely will cite real scientific papers that are relevant to your discussion. It doesn't hallucinate as a matter of course, it can hallucinate some of the time. You can't trust what it gives you 100%, you have to verify it. But it very often gives useful answers and information.
Not really a ponzi, more like circular financing. Nvidia exposed itself to the AI bust for no reason other than to keep the money flowing to buy their chips for a little longer. They were selling shovels in a gold rush and screwed it up by letting people finance the shovels. They're not in the finance business, they're in the chip business.
Not if you want to keep making the same product from 20 years ago over and over again. Something has to be different or people won't upgrade and continue to buy slop.
I intentionally bought a car with the least intrusive ipad and if a company ever comes out with a car that is all analog I will only buy that car. Honestly the ipad wouldn't even be needed if they just gave me a place to dock my phone.
Also weird bot comments that are long and tedious and somehow you only see the same 20 posts over and over. I remember when reddit was a tenth as big and it would have more new content being shown on the front page than it does now. Like I used to be able to scroll it for hours and now I'm done with it in like 20 minutes.
Caught my father in law who's addicted to youtube watching a video about some WWII pilot that knew how to shoot at enemy fighters from his time hunting hogs in Kansas. It was entirely AI generated, the video, the voice, and the narrative. That person didn't exist and it didn't survive scrutiny if you know anything about guns. But damn the comments were just boomers gooning over military wank.
1% of people actually contribute. Many of those 1% have left or were banned for criticizing the president and ICE. The comments I see lately are becoming more like instagram. Just easy observations and drivel. Some of them are like paragraphs of AI slop that hurts my brain trying to comprehend.
Oh you used a big word, AI phony!
Nah dude, I just . . . know how to write?
