  • Are they from the army of Rust Neckbeardistan.

  • They may think they have gotten over me, but they always come back.

  • I was with Jason Stringify just last night, but he tried to convert me to a new religion so I left.

  • Probably why the quality of posts seems to have gone down (IMO) and the quantity of bot posts has gone way up recently too. It basically turned to shit shortly after the IPO. When I saw an add for reddit on TV I knew it's in peak enshittify mode.

  • What percentage of old reddit contributes though? The 90-9-1 rule.

  • He looks exactly like how I imagined the creator of MTG would look.

  • It's a bit of both. Who do you think is voting in the interest of the billionaires. Their generational attitude of government bad, taxes bad, corporations good, unions bad combined with their outsized voting power is what brought the last 40 years of Reaganism, which is how we got the complete perversion (figuratively and literally) of the American dream that is Trumpism.

  • The problem is that we have allowed them to be benevolent monopolies and now that they control practically the entire market in their respective spaces they are not so benevolent any more. Nobody cared to choose a different search engine because google just worked, nobody bought things from a different website because amazon was fast and had everything. Now google search is just a way to sell me an ad for the thing I'm looking for and Amazon is just a way to sell me an ad for the chinese manufacturer who paid them off to push their results to the top or in some cases it's their own competing product.

  • Podcasts are just people bullshitting. It's a replacement for friends or something. I don't get it. There's basically no content.

  • I can stick a doorknob in my ass.

  • That's a problem with going on dates in general. Special interest clubs have always been a great place to meet people offline.

  • The advantage of Sodium -Ion is that it's cheap, abundant, safe, and can cycle. It's mainly used where large capacities are needed. So industrial, grid scale, stationary types of storage.

  • OKCommune?

  • Look at what meta did in Louisiana. The governor called up the Speaker and said they needed to pass a blank bill because a powerful donor wanted it and they all got in line, passed the bill and filled it in at the 11th hour. What was in the bill? Why it was approval of a 6 square mile (3840 acre) data center with no oversight or public comment. Just approved one of the largest data centers in the world in the middle of the night.

  • He basically builds bombs with electricity. I think he's really irresponsible and hope he doesn't encourage less knowledgeable people to try to copy him.

  • I want my dumb TV no matter the price.

  • Same as the internet infrastructure bubble in the dot com boom. Thing is, we use the infrastructure now, just took a decade or so.

  • Then Nvida financed more shovels to the speculators in the hopes that enough of them will strike gold it will get paid back, but also created a shortage in the shovel market so the price of shovels is going through the roof.

  • I prefer slop to live in its own technical box of generative AI crap instead of broadening the word to the point it's just another meaningless pejorative like sus.
