  • The finger toothbrush is an actual product. It's sold in pet stores.

  • There's no point in being scared, but I do keep an eye on the news about it.

I wouldn't mind a lock down happening again. Of course it's bad if people start dying and shit, but the disruption of the daily grind is much needed for society as a whole.

I'm honestly disappointed with how little changed after the last pandemic. People really ought to take some time reflecting on it instead of immediately returning to the old bad habits.

  • I once ordered a mushroom and runny egg pizza by accident because I couldn't read the menu in Japanese, so I asked the waiter to give me whatever he recommended.

    It was surprisingly good.

  • Education time and income instability. People are well into their 30s before they know where to settle down after finishing an education. They're well into their 40s before they can afford to.

If any country wanted to increase childbirth rates, they ought to lower working time, increase education pay and move employment out of the central cities.

Or put simply: Money and time needs to be available for the people they want to reproduce.

Now, I just saw the latest Kurzgesagt episode on this, and there's one thing they missed: Automation. We don't necessarily need to keep a stable or increasing population if only we can automate a lot more labour. In my opinion it's the only solution to avoid the future population crisis.

  • Summer camp might be a good option to break out of old habits, get new acquaintances and renewed self esteem.

  • True. Long winded pseudo scientific articles like this is boomer brain rot.

I tried to read it all, but around the middle I felt like I might as well be reading the backstory to a cookie recipe.

  • It would be interesting to calculate the user's value of the time wasted on this shit.

My guess is that online advertising has a negative return for society as a whole. It should be illegal.

  • the Start menu is getting a full rewrite in WinUI 3, which will make it 60% more responsive

Uh. I think I found the issue. A menu isn't even supposed to have various degrees of responsiveness.

  • Autopilot is not AI. It's basically a system that makes sure that some gyroscopes are aligned with whatever destination is typed in. It makes no artificial intelligent choices of any kind.

Air traffic controlling requires a lot more data processing. A lot of it could potentially be made or is already made with algorithms, provided that the data is based on trustworthy sensors and radars that are always up to date. They're probably not, so humans need to sort out which data to trust and make decisions that sometimes conflict with the erroneous data.

It makes no sense to throw a language model at the task.

  • I like a lot of the themes from the 70s.

Taxi, Hawaii 5-o, Benson, MASH, etc.

  • 100F was what was believed to be body temperature

I always thought that was funny fixing point. It makes sense in a medical setting, but in everyday use?

Oh sure, let me just describe the weather outside by comparing to the temperature inside my butthole.

Let's cook this roast in an oven that's as hot as 4 buttholes.

  • AI trained for this as it analyzed the Time Cube webpage.

  • They are eating the cats and dogs and also our lunch of the people who live there.

  • Just a guess, but I'd recommend to wait one or two years. Things will get worse, and thus cheaper to buy. In the meantime save up for a larger down payment, instead of stretching your finances now.

After the next election, people will have more hope and prices will increase in the following years. Expect to hold the property for at least 10 years. Anything shorter could be a loss.

  • Insurance is worse than communism in this case.

Tax paid universal healthcare and healthcare insurance both work on the idea of socializing the cost.

The difference is that insurance companies also need to make a profit too feed the owners. Since they don't actually produce anything that can make a profit, the only place they can grab the "profit" is by denying cover.

American healthcare insurance is exactly the same picture that is shown when people try to explain why communism doesn't work.

  • Eel don't have genitalia.

  • I think it's great that people make free music, I do so myself, but it'd be wrong to think that it'll fit perfectly.

I'd much rather see developers taking contact and getting custom made music that actually fits. Free or paid that's not the question, but just to have someone make a conscious decision of what actually fits the game.

It's such a large part of the game experience that it's a shame that it's often left up to random generic human or AI generated tunes.
