  • Yes sure. Code is logical stepwise. By including the "only if" it implies that other stuff is taken into account, which it isn't at that moment in code.

    I mean, I don't need to extend the implications of an IF statement. It already does exactly what it says.

    Anyway fuzzy logic does exist for people who want "sometimes if". It's useful in certain cases. I've only ever considered it in music production, where things very often get to the point of complexity where it makes a (sometimes) useful difference.

    Nothing wrong about that. However if we make it exclusive:

    IF AND ONLY IF "I can see the sun" THEN "It's day."

    That's obviously wrong. I can actually not keep the day away by sitting with closed eyes in my mothers basement with the curtains shut.

    "Only if" might make sense in a legal contract, but there's no way a piece of code can stop other pieces of code from calling the same functions.

  • I fully understand the anger and frustration that leads people to dreaming of and secretly prepping for violent insurrections, but I will absolutely urge them to redirect the energy into something that can actually make a change.

    Historically, violent insurrections against the owning class have always been put down by the police or army and not resulting in changes.

    The latest meaningful changes which happened in Europe in the late 1800s happened due to workers uniting, striking and supporting each other internationally.

    This is rarely taught in schools for some reason, and it's beginning to be a bit of an issue, since many people today have no clue about the foundation for their current life/working situation.

    Even if there was a violent insurrection.. then what? What are the demands? What is the desired outcome? If people can organize to figure that out, they might as well put it into a strike demand.

    Abstract. Diamagnetic objects are repelled by magnetic fields. The theory explains recent experiments by Geim et al, in which a variety of objects (one of which was a living frog) was levitated in a field of about 16 T. Similar ideas explain the stability of a spinning magnet (LevitronTM) above a magnetized base plate. Stable levitation of paramagnets is impossible.

  • I doubt any civilisation has made intergalactic travel. There are enough worlds in any galaxy that there is very little purpose in venturing to another galaxy. The distance between galaxies is also insane. Even with faster than light warp speeds it would take thousand of years to reach a different galaxy.

  • Not everyone has Excel or even a monitor.

    I pdf everything I send by mail because I know they're going to watch it on a phone or tablet just as if they got a printed paper delivered by snail mail.

    This way I can set the print area and focus on what I want them to see. It also stops them from overwriting my formulas and sending it back for me to fix. There's nothing worse than working on somebody else's spreadsheet. Just as much as I dislike receiving Excel sheets, I also don't want to put anyone else in that situation.

  • Coffee isn't very acidic. It's around pH 5. Enamal is damaged by anything less than 5.5, so coffee is bad, but not very.

  • It is sometimes done in German. The word is Zwei, but it's somewhat common to say Zwo instead for clarity. The w is pronounced.

    I guess the" tw" sound isn't used as frequently in English. It happens in between.

  • What you're describing sound more like relief than happyness.

    I felt somewhat similar when my dad died. He was drinking and declining mentally. Of course it saddened me, but with us having our first born at the same time, it was also a huge relief not having to deal with his issues in that situation.
