  • EU has an allow system, which is the reason the CyberTrucks is not on the EU market. It would not be able to pass the safety requirements if they attempted.

    On a similar note, the EU also has an allow system for all vehicles already on the road. Every single vehicle is inspected every two years, with the first check for new cars being after 4 years. This system keeps older rusty cars away from the roads.

    Tesla's other models have an issue passing even the first test. It's the brand with the highest failing rate of all car brands.

    The machine would take the note and stop the pump when it reached the price. If you overpaid, that's your problem. If you didn't get a full tank, that's not a real problem, you still got what you paid for.

    On the internet in general and specifically on YouTube, it's difficult for handsome people to do anything at all without being accused of doing normal stuff while being attractive just to increase monetization.

    It's a weird kind of gate keeping, but I do understand it. There are definitely channels that only exist for that reason, and it might be annoying to see your favorite topic being used by someone who ought to be on OnlyFans instead. However, it doesn't actually take anything away from anyone, so it's really just a 'crabs in a bucket' mentality, where nobody are allowed to stand out.

  • There's no such thing as "the peak of an average waveform", since it doesn't make sense to average them.

    They range from 20 Hz to 20000hz, so they have lengths between 2 cm and 1700 cm and peak everywhere in between.

    What he was doing was attempting to avoid phase cancellation from stereo, which is an actual issue. You simply have to place yourself in the center, so that the distance to each speaker is the same.

    It's an issue for low frequencies, which have long wavelengths, carry a lot of energy and are usually centered (to avoid phase issues in the first place), so it is both possible and audible if they cancel out after leaving the speakers. However, since they're long, it also means that there is some wiggle room. Obviously there's a perfect spot, but It won't have any noticable negative effect unless you're like 1 meter away from that and accidentally sit in the perfectly bad position. It is not as much of an issue for higher frequencies, since they have much shorter and more complex wavelengths, that are not necessarily centered in the first place. Even if they also theoretically do cancel out, it is unlikely that you would notice it happening at all, and if you do, you could simply move your head 1 cm to get into the right spot again.

    In a car, the driver position is sort of fixed. It would make sense to angle the speakers for this purpose.

  • I have subscribed to a few skateboard channels that I have followed for a long time. Not because of the tricks, because quite frankly, these guys are not the best skaters, but they make good content for old skaters like myself who don't care much about the latest tricks.

    Ben Degros. Perhaps better known for his other channel The Vancouver Carpenter. Well, he's also a skateboard product connoisseur, who can smell the difference between different presses of deck concave and wheel sizes.

    Jon Bishop. An old fart from UK who started skating at an old age and walks through all the basics and thoughs of beginner and intermediate tricks.

    And obviously: The Skate Nomad. Mike Boisvert. A (relatively) young Canadian dude who quit everything and set out to live the dream of skateboarding in every country in the world, while couch crashing at locals the entire way. It's interesting to see the differences and similarities in cultures world wide from this perspective.
