  • I have one drink most nights. At most it relaxes me a little, but mainly I just enjoy the flavor /sensory experience.

    I understand the pleasures of the experience of getting drunk, but pursuing that is a losing proposition. Over time it gets harder to achieve the pleasurable effects and the negative effects come on faster.

    (I meant to post this as a top level comment. Since I left it here I'll just add that I'm lucky enough to be someone who can stop, though there have been many times I didn't have the sense to. After drinking too much, my body tells me No the next day. I've known people who's body tells them to have another drink the next day. I've been lucky.)

  • When artists imagine new things, they don't generally ask people what those things are as if they must be a thing that really exists in the real world.

    The animation you created does resemble something I've seen in, I think, a sci fi movie (I don't recall which). I've also seen, in real life, small desktop models resembling this (again I can't point you something specific, but I'm picturing it in brass).   • I second that. I use the insulated 32oz or uninsulated 40oz on my bike, both fit a nalgene sized bottle cage.

  • As someone who also went to a good university and worked in tech, it boggles my mind that someone with that experience could claim not to have met a dumb person. I have to question OP's ability to judge intelligence. People from those social environments do at least have to develop the patina of not being a knuckle-dragger which some might be fooled by, but I've seen many cases of deep stupidity lurking behind that.

  • I would say there are multiple branches of this collaborative fiction with their own fandoms, and if you were to try to define what was "canon", those would have to be separate, mutually exclusive canons. The Kane pixels videos is only one of these and not even the first.

  • About even... I do 1.5 oz of everything, but 1.75 of wheat, to bring the total to the amount of wheat in the recipe I started from: https://ansonmills.com/recipes/436?recipes_by=grain

    I have a grinder so I have a bunch of different grains on hand and throw these into the grinder. I think the buckwheat I have is toasted but that's not critical.

    I reduce the butter a little. I'll try subbing applesauce next time I have some.

  • I use butter but I use whole grain flour instead of white. I like a mix of wheat, spelt, corn, oat, and buckwheat.

  • Yeah the "talk yourself into" phrasing of the question suggests to me that there is some rationalizing or excuse making going on. If so, I agree the correct response to that part of the brain is "STFU!" and just do it. Do not accept that behavior from your brain, shut that shit right down.
