Literally the most soft-ball interview imaginable, the interviewer read a short excerpt from the alleged shooter's manifesto about fighting pedophiles - it didn't even directly accuse him!!! - and he freaked out, started saying "I'm not a pedophile" and whinging about how disgusting and disgraceful the interviewer is for bringing it up.
They're saying that if you don't enjoy being exploited by billionaires enough to put the interests of the corporation before your own wellbeing, family and personal pursuits, then it means you just haven't found the right billionaire to exploit you yet.
This is steel-manning an argument for a feature no one wants which is most likely the thin end of the wedge for increased surveillance and censorship.
This is just how it starts so they can trick well meaning developers into making websites and platforms which make use of this verification while it is still self-ID, but when the laws become more demanding and require connecting your user account to your real-world identity, it'll already be too late, all of your online activity can be tied back to you.
When I make this argument, people like to call it a slippery slope, but the fact is that there are so many nations cracking down on free, unmonitored access to the internet, with social media restrictions, platforms like Discord requiring you to provide identification, and so on.
All for this, all of that risk, all for a feature that adds very little value to the computing experience of anyone.
What do you mean? By "mainstream Democrats" we mean people like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, they're more unpopular than ever with their own base, and they very clearly put the interests of the ruling class before the needs of the working class. They are right wingers who support Israel's genocide, they're not anti-war, they don't support Medicare-for-All. They've got to go, 100%.
It means that the focus of our criticism should be against the right, rather than those on the left.
It is an encouragement for those on the left to put aside our disagreements about how we can reach the better future we are all fighting for, and instead fight those who want to silence and oppress us, and those who put the interests of the ruling class before the needs of the working class.
The thing is, billionaires are a symptom of a larger problem. Of course, to alleviate our suffering, the treatment of symptoms is necessary, but we also need to address the root cause of the problem: unjustified hierarchies, the centralization of power, and capitalism itself.
Our leaders are so completely compromised by the ruling class. We have got so much work to do to tackle this issue. The New Deal didn't go far enough, someone more radical than FDR is needed. I have my doubts that electoralism will be sufficient.
Organize, protest and elect. Emphasis on organize and protest.
Get as involved as you can with activist efforts locally.
Organize, network, focus on building solidarity. Join or form a union. Join the IWW.
Vote at primaries and elections for the best candidate, even if you doubt they can win.
Don't punch down.
Don't punch left.
Educate yourself, politically.
Push for voting reform and for anything that breaks the two-party system

I went to see a therapist because my employer paid for it and I thought "may as well give it a try" and it absolutely changed my life in so many ways. I never would have gone to therapy if it wasn't for that because I thought I was fine, but looking back... guys, I was not fine, I just didn't have the tools to understand myself, I struggled so much with so many things I thought were just normal, I didn't see how my emotional issues were causing so many of the problems in my life.
Long story short, therapy saved my life, and it might save yours, too. Give it a try!
