  • The US legal system still runs on powdered wigs and good ol boys and closed door midnight meetings. It didn't catch up to the technology booms during our childhood, and it's sure as shit not catching up to anything happening now, hence the unbridled tech bro dystopia currently enshitifying everything you can possibly imagine.

  • TRUMPBurgers™ are only slightly less than 50% horse meat which according to TRUMPLaw™ means we don't have to say it on the packaging and so what you said is TRUMPDefamation™ because it hurts Trump's TRUMPFeelings™ so prepare to get TRUMPSued™ (and/or possibly TRUMPDeported™)!

  • The best bar and the best local brewery in my area both got gentrified into "family friendly" establishments and they suck ass compared to what they once were.

Unfortunately, still much better than most of my other options.

  • I don't know what you're talking about. Nothing in the OP says anything about a "playplace."

  • Yeah, it's really not scary at all, the premise is just so silly. But the execution is so morbid and handled with such attention to detail as to drive it home anyway.

The way Bear ends up dying in what is basically a reenactment of the way his cat dies at the beginning of the film, with him taking the cat's place, and Nikki taking his place... Jesus. What even do I do with this? I guess the magic behind the One Wish Willow is omnipotent, or otherwise able to tap into Bear's private memories to torture him to his last breath? Anyway, what the fuck... Gotta hand it to whoever came up with all that.

  • God damn, this was an unsettling movie. Really enjoyed it.

  • Or maybe "assisted with work." The chart says they do that.

  • Eons ago now, in my youth, WalMart used to be open 24 hours a day, making it a viable option for hanging out late and observing other local weirdos. One night, around midnight, a group of much younger kids were there, running around and being loud and making a mess and generally threatening to "ruin it for everybody." When they ran past us at full speed, narrowly missing my friend, she muttered under her breath, "Fall. Fall. FALL!" And in that very instant one of them tripped and face-planted in the middle of the aisle in the women's clothing section, very nearly going full scorpion. We would have laughed otherwise, but we were both eyes-wide in amazement at my friend's newly discovered magic powers. The end.

  • ... In a restaurant?

  • I still use my Canon SD1000. 20 years and it's still going! The resolution is lower (only 7.1MP), but the photos still look really nice. And that was a relatively cheap camera for the time.

  • I'd pay to watch Jonah Hill try to beat up Google

  • They'll be Beyond™ Bronto-Burgers and they'll be expensive as hell.

  • Tucker is our 12ish year old Tabby. He gets in the bed at night and snuggles up with his back against my chest, and uses his paws to grab my arm and pull it in against his belly like his own little body-pillow. His purring always puts me right to sleep.

  • At this rate, we'll all be making cave drawings and eating Bronto-burgers before he's done.

  • I read it as the drones protecting the civilians from the trigger-happy cops rushing in first.

  • he's wearing a shirt about jerking off farm animals in public, and that seems OK to him

Maybe it's something he thinks about a lot, and this is his way of coping with the cognitive dissonance.

  • Worked from home for 8 years, and routinely finished projects ahead of schedule which left me with a ton of time to work on furthering my education, personal projects, home maintenance and hobbies. Work life balance!

Been working an in-person role for 2 years now, have zero time during the day to do anything else, couldn't do most of those things at the office anyway, and I make no additional money. These last two years have felt like my life has largely been on hold.

  • Usually no, but I'm dealing with cyclospora right now and I gotta say, the sounds are unpleasant.

  • There's a guy in my area selling Temu-quality Trump merch on the side of the highway, out of what I'm pretty sure used to be one of those water pistol games you see at carnivals and state fairs, with all that hardware ripped out.

I've passed by it on the way to and from work for years now, and never once have I seen a customer.
