If you like Sci-Fi and are open to something less extreme than Bret Easton Ellis I'd also recommend "Roadside Picknick" by Strugatsky bros.
Or if you want something in a more similar direction but with a lot more cynicism "Post Office" by Charles Bukowsky.
"Road Side Picknick" is more existencial wtf. There is also an excellent film about it called "Stalker".
The thing is: I would get them too if I could afford it.
For the headphone stuff which is quite cool tech actually, I don't like wearing in ear headphones and they basically work as headphones without going into your ears. The Ai stuff seems honestly creepy but I'm sure they legally can't force you to use it in Europe and the camera stuff seems okay.
Firefox on Android has gotten quite shit as well. It just refuses to load sometimes and won't open pages until you copy and paste the url in a new tab. Extremly annoying, especially for online payments.
E: It's a known issue for a few months now. Check recent reviews on Google Play if you don't believe me. Fuck me for complaining about having issues I guess.
Repackages and patches an older version of the Android ytb app as well as some other apps. The patches do different things for different apps (usually remove ads).
I like Revanced. I can listen to stuff even while the screen is locked and have sponsor block and other addons if I want. I think half the time I spend on my phone is watching Youtube and it's heaps better than Firefox with an adblocker on Android.
Not a huge fan of Ai either but this behaviour is silly to me. Who cares if a flyer was made using AI.
Memes in niche communities I follow on Lemmy get hundreds of votes (and like 30 people complaining in the comments) when they're obviously AI made. Like this one here. Others don't even though they are also Ai made.
It's just stupid to think you can always tell or that someone who does a bad photoshop is am amazing artist.
I think it's fine to use anywhere where people would use stock footage before. Not in art and music but for a flyer or a quick internet meme why the hell not.
It's not as though the technology will disappear if I don't like it.
