  • I had that mentality of "I just need girlfriend to fix me" for a long time. I was lucky that enough people like you made posts and comments like these and the message eventually got through to me. Therapy has been great for helping me understand how to fix and improve my life without relying on someone else, and that's motivated me to exercise more, eat better, and improve my mental health through journaling and other activities.

I know it can sometimes feel like you're shouting into the void with comments like this, where a few people upvote and you get some silly responses, but you never know if your comment may be the one that finally gets through to someone. I appreciate comments like this and I hope people never stop repeating it.

  • Reminds me of blood gnats from The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.

  • Maybe I'm missing something, but 3rd degree would be the person is connected with a person you're 2nd degree connection with, right? That's why Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon is a thing.

  • The article that this article is based on (found here has pictures showing that the DDR2 sticks had fake heat sinks put on. The weight is behind the fake heat sink to make it feel more authentic. I had the same initial thought as you, but heat sinks add a decent amount of weight.

  • I have that but with my right hand. It makes proper high-fiving difficult and people just assumed I was lying about not being able to close my fingers properly. It's really validating to hear someone else with a similar issue.

  • I named my main & guest networks "I beat my Wi-Fi" and "Tell my Wi-Fi love her". I'm gonna create a third network to steal yours.

  • I read a book a while ago called The Annotated Chronicles that included a "boot scene" and the margins included a note from one of the authors about how Kirk inspired the idea. I hadn't seen Star Trek, nor did I know anything about it, so I didn't get the reference until just now. Your meme just resolved a 15-year gap in knowledge for me.

  • I rented a room from my boss in college and he pulled this prank on me. First he hid it in the office and convinced all my coworkers to pretend not to hear it. It would switch between a creepy child's laugh to a man groaning to other random noises. I was pretty sure it was a noisemaker, but I couldn't get anyone else to admit that they could hear it so I couldn't confirm.

Then he moved it into the air vents of his house that I was renting a room in. I started to think I was developing schizophrenia since my mom suffered from it and after I confided as much in my roommate / coworker, he finally came clean and showed me where our boss hid it.

All of this to say, it's a very effective prank.

  • There’s a couple 40%-ers in the comments but not nearly enough. It took me years to learn to properly type, but once I did, I fell in love with a 40%. There’s some cool designs out there for small keyboards, like the Minimi 40 with a combination lid & wrist rest (not released yet, but it’ll be glorious once it’s finally available).
