Space station 14 is the only game I enjoy that I don't look forward to launching because I know once I start it's a 80/20 chance I will either have the greatest gaming experience ever or be bored for 2 hours (and a 100% chance of playing until 3am). 10/10 would reccomend
I think most of the scene was scripted apart from the part about his wife which was improvised, that's why you can hear the crew behind the camera laughing as well.
It's a fair point. It feels like I can't look at any news on lemmy without seeing a large amount of doomers convinced the world is going to end by 2030. Some of their points are valid but their view of the future is overwhelmingly depressing and very exaggerated.
When I open lemmy, it's to ignore real life, not to feel even worse about my future
I have a rare condition called EBS (sometimes called butterfly skin). I am lucky enough to have a non life threatening form so it is usually only a problem when I walk/exercise in above 20°C temperatures. And I usually get benefits (I rarely have to queue for things)
That is definitely the appeal. My friends who use apps with algorithms like tik tok tell me that is the reason they use the apps. I can't blame them. Those algorithms showed me loads of obscure musical artists that are still my favorite today (and that is a good thing for indies/small businesses who don't have much money for ad spaces). There is a lot of good reasons for algorithms like that, the problem is the data necessary to make them work and what other stuff they do with it.
Both times I went to Germany I was the only one trying to speak German out of a very large group, maybe they were happy to see someone at least try?
