  • No important data is on the SD card, only an external drive attached to the pi. I have had to turn the pi off to take the data off of the drive.

  • One of my favourite game dev stories from the 1980s is the story of Elite. It was a game people thought couldn't be made. Most devs thought hardware wasn't powerful enough and publishers thought it wouldn't be fun enough.

    It was one of the first properly 3D open world video games ever made. I think when it released it sold nearly as many copies as there were home computers that could run it.

    In order to make the game small enough to fit on a cassette tape they had to ditch basic and program the entire game, world in assembly.

  • English, German and French. I don't speak German or French but I am still learning German (my school forced me to learn French from when I was 7 to when I was 14, but it was taught to poorly to me until I was 13 that I dropped it as soon as I could and the only things I remember are the numbers)

  • Today students pick keycaps off of keyboards and steal anything not tied down (so instead of just the ball, the entire mouse gets stolen). Once I heard a student ran off with an entire side panel of a computer

  • I can't help you with most of the points, but you should stay hopeful and start forcing change with activism. With the climate change point, I reccomend this video, it is optimistic while staying realistic and addresses the problems that are a roadblock to net zero.
