  • AI drive-by issues, pull requests and security reports are overwhelming maintainers. Rising security expectations (thanks Mythos) require maintainers to do even more work. Open source funding is hard to secure and insufficient.

    Some of this is happening, but I’m sure as hell not seeing it in Homebrew...

    As I’ve written before, the scarcest resource in open source is not money but the motivation of the maintainers.

    You should be able to block and unblock freely whoever and whatever you want.The "centralized" may be suggestions (i.e., toggleable), and only, where instances with opt-in keep them implicit/optional, and instances with opt-out explicitly warn about them during a registration.

    And though I was banned on the /0 instance for a single message, too, with some experience in web-dev I just wanted to clarify regarding the possible immaturity of the sad malicious script authors, sorry...

    That attempt seems too reckless and disregards the client optimizations, I believe, and may "choke" the JavaScript engine event-loop of common clients as modern browsers, since Fetch API is asynchronous, and not to mention net::ERR_INSUFFICIENT_RESOURCES that may also cause lagging in the client.

    A few milliseconds timeout, or more adequate batching/chunks seems required. For example:

    That would at least make it more adequate in the scope of User clients with less but still loading them awfully and disrespectfully... which is sorrowful indeed...

    In other words, their current "malicious" code is just...wrong...Regardless, such actions may tarnish someone's history much to the point their self-confidence may not recover shortly and require a great amount of time to believe in yourself hopefully again... Therefore, let's hope the people behind it will reconsider their actions as soon as possible... and won't dig their own beliefs and love too deep to search for later...

    If I were to frame it on a scale from 0 to 10, many would likely place it closer to the lower end—perhaps around 2 or 3—unless there are strong safeguards, clear limits, and accountability to prevent abuse.

    This naive "rapid pace"...

    Those who do in that careless "pace" will invest more time maintaining it, fixing it, supporting it, or well... realizing it, I believe.

    Not to mention that they make themselves more and more dependent on some LLM vendor prospering these vendors with each iteration and tokens burned, and training their models on your own ideas, creativity, and your time of life. Yet, not a single person will guarantee a stable outcome, and no one to blame after. Is that "development"? That is dark horrific sorrow.

    This "vibe coding" may be quick at starters, if lucky and all Gods and the Fortune got you, yet supporting that and investing your life time after?

    No, never. I have my own mind to train. The people I work with have their own minds. The Communities out there have their own minds. We all have our mind to develop, and learn from each other. Otherwise, it’s empty, pointless, and not art you will be proud of as a developer who inscribes moments in the history, and stand your name in it.

    I do get the most of these stated, but it would be awesome to know more about how he did actually find it, and with what toolset. Was is gdb, Valgrind, JetBrains, IDA Pro, or some another general/complex dump viewer/toolset?

    And, the interactive miracle, at the top of the website is freaking marvelous... It reminded me of the articles of the fluid simulation algorithms of Yusuke Endoh! Heartfelt gratitude to the developer, the artist who implemented it!

    Apparently, behind the scene, the fluid colors are contained in an array where every single color has a defined meaning!

    It might be their sorrowful automation system at the start of them trying "AI" and I got into a list by a mistake, yet no one ever cared or will care, I believe, because it's Reddit - one of the most popular forum-like social marketed out there.

    I've invested ~340 Euro into the account at Reddit giving awards mostly, and a few NFT avatars, and for what?I lost hope in Reddit, and won't consider their support or anything serious from that point, unfortunately...Such a... sorrow... So much of human priceless precious finite life time... is...
