The question is mine or yours?

The High Corvid of Progressivity

Chance favors the prepared mind.

  • The real power move here would be to grab the domain name and run a free Mastodon instance off of it.

  • Great. So now the choice is between Nazi and Sugar-free Nazi.

Ohio, once again earning its title as America's toilet bowl.

  • 50,000 broken lives, punished for the crime of being born on the wrong side of the border.

  • Sounds like it's time to send in the bounty hunters.

  • These days reading the article counts as research. Have an extra upvote for honesty tho ;)

  • Nice investigative work - this is the first I've heard about the contamination. It looks like China caught the issue back in March, and its highly likely more of the supply chain was compromised. This would make it subject to further Chinese boycotts, endangering the Argentian economy and screwing Milei because it makes things bumpy for Peter Thiel in his new home.

This is why Trump is both helping Milei and refusing to say where the beef is from.

Btw, these are the side effects of chloramphenicol:

Serious and fatal blood dyscrasias (aplastic anemia, hypoplastic anemia, thrombocytopenia, and granulocytopenia) are known to occur after the administration of chloramphenicol.

There have been reports of aplastic anemia attributed to chloramphenicol which later terminated in leukemia.

Blood dyscrasias have occurred after both short-term and prolonged therapy with this drug.

  • Sounds like Elon's Bitter.

  • Welcome to America, where the laws are made up and your vote doesn't matter..

  • If you want to see some of the most amazing dogfights in your life, put up three or four, all within sight of each other about 30' - 40' apart. This attracts multiple birds, and the distance is too great for one bird to dominate the food source, but just close enough to keep them pissed off at each other.

  • Now what if i told you had insider knowledge, and know this for a fact? By May 17 2027, the world as we know it is ending.

I'd ask for proof and real detail, of which you've provided none. This doesn't mean I disagree with your overall point, but invoking the apocalypse without evidence isn't going to earn my upvote.

  • The content has taken a nosedive in the last three months - just take a look at /r/all and you'll see duplicate postings appearing on the feed within the first 100 posts.

The quality of the conversation has plummeted as well. Most comments are one or two sentences, and usually just reaction posts. You can see where the AI bots have taken over - entire comment chains where old reddit tropes are just passed back and forth without any real context, critique, humor, or understanding.

It's no longer a discussion forum. It's a reaction machine, pushing a narrative that has been stripped of anything original that could be disruptive to the status quo... in other words, stripped of the very humanity that made it valuable for ChatGPT in the first place.

  • At this late stage of the game, assume that if it's a Fed that's set his eyes on you, you don't have any rights.

State and local still might respect them if you're north of the Mason-Dixon or west of the Rockies, but don't count on it if your state begins with the letters A, I, M,O or U and you're not in major metropolitan area.

  • she thanks him for her “coming of age,” whatever the fuck that means

C'mon, let's be honest. We all know what that means.

  • 5 is being generous. At Netflix, you're lucky to last one season.

  • True to some extent on point one, but because an android is a physical manifestation, the aging process can be simulated through mechanical means. This isn't quite the same as the limitations placed on a hologram, which are entirely programmatic.

I'm gonna confess that I didn't make it all the way through Picard, so I'll absolutely give you that point - but I'll also point out that this makes it exceptionally cruel, because as far as I know, Picard doesn't go back and give Moriarity a replacement body.

Back to point one - the hologram should in theory be easier to age than an android, as its entirely programmatic. But then this brings up the question, if you program in aging and death to a hologram, how is that any different than a death sentence?

In Moriarity's case, if he is programmed to age and die in the simulation, Picard has become his executioner - although a random number generator for M's lifespan might ease his conscience a bit. If not, Picard becomes an absent jailor.

The only moral decision that supports Federation principles (or at least TNG principles) is to let Moriarity go free as soon as the technology is available. He is, canonically, the first member of a newly discovered intelligent species.

  • Except that there's not, canonically, until Starfleet Academy. The Doctor from Voyager develops it roughly 200 years after the end of the Voyager series - and that only ages his appearance on a voluntary basis. He's still effectively immortal.

Plus, previously to this "final solution" in TNG, when they turned the holodeck off for a number of years, Moriarity was still conscious, frozen in a dead world and aware of the passage of time, but did not age.
