Extremely, I don't even waste time complaining about things (usually, lol) that can't be changed because that's time I could spend enjoying other parts of life! I have clothes mostly just so I'm not naked outside, and I've only actually put any thought into it when it comes to my work clothes (I kinda miss the days I could wear the same thing every day because I was in the army and it was mandatory, why don't we have uniforms as civilians?!). I don't even argue with people IRL: I say something as nicely as possible to allow the person to accept what I'm saying, and if they don't seem to get it I just state things plainly ("this is what I'm gonna do, this is what you can or cannot do regarding this, this is what I can offer to compensate if it makes you feel better, and such is life"). I only have, uhh, friendly and purely intellectual arguments with my fellow lemmings! 😅
As a married man to a very girly girl, this makes me basically an alien to my wife, being on the opposite end of this (and other) spectrums. She often jokes that she "found" me in the woods or "rescued" me, and since I often wear things until the holes are larger than the fabric and drink water straight from the tap no glass, she might have a point! She's also the only one who I actually argue with, for obvious reasons. 😬
You can plant the seed of doubt though, and sometimes that is enough for at least the smallest of changes. That's why I enjoy getting e-gangbanged in l/Atheism. 😅
Women are not as reckless, less confrontational and more socially conscious (if not due to morals, at least because of the fear of being ostracized). Also, they're generally incapable of engaging in violent crime competently, for obvious biological reasons, so I guess they also have less motivation to try if it ever crosses their minds.
Nah, my wife will have to handle my loss, God willing. I've seen how grandmas and grandpas react to the passing of their better halves, women seem to handle it better. 🤷♂️
A tiny bit of self deprecation and many compliments and good vibes first to set an environment of trust, I guess? I just talk to people, and wherever I go I end up being part of the group of gossipy girlies, lol. I don't mind, and my wife doesn't either. 😅
Yapping/gossiping/interrogating people lovingly, and it hits all the spots: it's information-heavy, gives me a socialization dose and it strengthens relationships. 👍
As a hotel night guy, I've managed to successfully finish the first part of my MSc, and whenever I'm not doing uni work I'm just playing videogames and arguing online. I don't know why men don't do this more often, lol, the paycheck is also considerably higher than that of the day staff. This job is unironically such a blessing! 😅
"They might be known murderers, rapists and thieves, but they're OUR murderers! Also, the death of brown people is not really sad like that, come on..."
What's there to say about it? Being with someone, your best friend and also your (perhaps fundamentally somewhat incomprehensible) better half completes you. Not just emotionally speaking, but also ideologically and psychologically. Passively and actively, being with someone who you know cares deeply about you and wants you around for as long as possible makes you change for the better. Sometimes, that means just learning that women and men are different, and that you two are different, and that your preferences and annoyances are not universal and then you learn that many times people have compromised to make you happy and as such, you have to do it as well. Sometimes, it means reassessing your entire worldview and coming to terms with some psychological problems you didn't know you had but need to be addressed and treated.
Basically, romantic love is not just sweet and, to the vast majority of people, necessary for eudaimonia, but it's also a conduit for personal growth, a development you can't really have elsewhere, you kinda gotta share your life with someone in that capacity to make it happen.
PS: and oh yeah, on some level you kinda have to be different, mainly so you don't have the same blind spots. Everyone is incomplete (in many ways), it's better to be with someone who fills many gaps.
I just moved to a new country but I already have a friendly relationship with neighbours on both sides, one being a family of 4, and the other is an old widow. All pretty lovely. ❤️👍
Probably around 2/3rds of the time, with perhaps half of those cases happening in the convo and the other half some time later. And even then, maybe I'm being too soft on myself, lol.
Anilingus boomed after that Jhene Aiko song, lol. Western culture is overly sexual (expansive in superficiality, deep in hedonism, nothing new: Red light district in the Netherlands, Berlin is like the Mecca for hellish hedonism including a lot of poop play, etc etc.), by their standards the rest of the world is prudish and stuck-up. 🤷♂️
There are probably fewer than 10% of leftists in the West overall, even fewer in America, and for anyone outside of the West being a "leftist" just means having a modicum of humanity and caring about justice. Any Anglo site will inevitably be filled with average Anglos, and the average Anglo man is, well, you know. Just be happy they're not a majority here, not yet at least. 🤷♂️
"Apolitical", especially when you remember it's just an extension of one's ethics, means one of two things: they're a shallow, pig-like person who simply doesn't have the intellectual capacity to even think about anything that goes beyond "do X to get money to pay for Doritos and Buzzballs/cocaine and hookers"; or they're actually just evil but need to hide it for obvious reasons. Never met any other case.
Not really but this one time, a long time ago when I was a preteen, I was on holiday with the fam and I kinda snuck into the kitchen and started yapping with the cooks (I have that ADHD 👍). Anyway, it was two ladies and one dude and the dude was talking about how he's gonna be a dad and he's so happy and the lady next to him had a big pregnant belly so I congratulated them both ("of course that's his partner, that's just how it is"- my kid brain). She wasn't pregnant, nor was she his partner, and at least both ladies laughed... I apologised, went back to ask for pancakes, and went back to my mom feeling very embarrassed. 🫣😅
