Min wage, of course, like any other entry job. Not that I think it's "enough" or that they're properly compensated for their contribution, because the profit is almost always split amongst those who have never worked for it, but in Western Europe it's a "livable wage", IME. For instance, you can rent a studio apartment in the center of Marseille for about 500 euro, and min wage is like 1400 for 35h/week. With the "prime d'activité", which is some money the government can give you for having a job, you can get an extra 250-100 euro. It's manageable (without kids ofc)
We're all trying to pay bills, and I also work in the service industry. Such is life, I'm not gonna be a baby/asshole and demand someone to pay extra (because they're not underpaying or stealing, gratuity is basically charity and you're meant to be competent at your job regardless) because of the inequalities of my fucked up so-called society. If you get uppity because someone doesn't want to waste even more money on a night out just for free, sure, but I don't think this very emotional take is valid, and it's acceptable only in the US.
And, btw, the only intention anyone has by going to a restaurant is eating in exchange for money, the prices are there and I pay the price. Anything else (from complimenting you on your nice shoes to paying your medical bills because you're very nice) cannot be reasonably expected.

No, there's a filter of free will/volition, with natural tendencies (baseline I guess if we're talking "AI", a mixture of base programming and following manual adjustments) and informed, ideology-dependent reflection in the background. Anybody with a sugar addiction that's ever dieted, or stayed faithful, or acted with God's judgment in mind understands this easily. Even with memory, what would the AI want, besides what's programmed and prompted? Can it reason? Could it change its mind/take/approach based on this independently? Why? What's its motivation? Does it have a connection to reality, even, do the words it uses have a connection to the world? At the moment, whatever I've encountered seems to be acting as a data processor, although maybe they're cooking something else we haven't seen.

Yeah, I don't understand, honestly. That looks TJ me like either the result of semantic confusion or purposefully misguiding marketing. What we have today (that is publicly available) is input output machines that ran through a lot of data and have been carefully calibrated by technicians, not "ghosts in the machines". Where is this consciousness hiding there? This is obvious even to the untrained eye that isn't autistically disconnected from reality, but anyone with enough IT knowledge to comprehend what has been coded here could also just check (which, admittedly, is probably like under 1000 people because these are very complex machines/algorithms, but still).
I don't see how it's "literally impossible", it actually hasn't happened yet (or, if it has, the existence of an actual artificial intelligence is hidden by whatever government has it). Even if they passed the Turing test or whatever, we can just check the code and check what requests have been made ("pretend to be an entity with volition stuck in the virtual realm and hold conversations"), and even if we couldn't check cause it was obfuscated that still wouldn't mean such a thing exists, just that some dude tricked us. Appearances are not reality, after all.
The moment these LLMs have volition and aren't just input-output machines that are inert when not in use, we can consider them conscious, right? They need to have a will of their own to qualify as free willed entities, after all.
Not my case cause I'm happily taken but I hate seeing my colleagues and friends just mindlessly "dating". No objectives, no direction, just going out for the sake of intoxication and fornication, and sometimes they get into situationships, sometimes they don't, their longest relationship is a 6 month fling. How hedonistic, immature and overall depressing.
The tea is that ever since they made reliable, non-disgusting or super invasive contraception, nothing has been the same. Sure, an intelligent person can still make their way in the world but most people are basically cattle so, if they're not lucky enough to be rightly guided, they'll just act in the expected ways. Imagine how different things would be if the possibility of pregnancy was truly always there. Abortions are really uhh uncomfortable at the very least on different levels, and most ladies aren't planning on getting one, so that's no solution either. Both men and women would keep it in their pants, date for the purpose of finding a partner with whom you could build a life and a family with and avoid fornication (for "practical" reasons and not just ethical ones). And then people would more easily get paired up, and there would be fewer confusions regarding romantic relationships. Hook-up culture is the expected result of reliable contraception and a lack of ideology/moral teachings regarding sex and relationships. What else could happen in the vacuum of guidance besides hedonism and confusion ? But the cat is out of the bag now so y'all will have to make these decisions yourselves, without the motivating risk of unwanted children.
