  • They're getting taxes no matter what. If you just purchase American goods because you don't want to give them money from tariffs, then all you've done is demonstrate that tariffs work since now American businesses are selling more.

    Ideally, if corporations lose enough business, they'll actually put pressure on the govt (of course, they might just roll over based on how things have gone so far). In any case, this isn't even really a sacrifice on my end since a lot of American products are kind of shoddy.

  • He should've done something like that on top of a delay in the script to prevent it from potentially being associated with the deletion of his name in AD (assuming the company backs stuff like that up, which is questionable since one dev was able to do all this lmao).

    The other issue is that the computer responsible for the infinite looping was associated with him. Since he had seemingly unlimited access to everything, should've either plopped it on some shared device with a separate user or just configured it to also delete itself once it noticed the AD name being gone.

    Anyway, this entire scenario is both hilarious and makes me never, ever want to use Eaton products.

  • My dude, the chips aren't manufactured in the US. If the tariffs don't apply to the chips that are inherently imported from outside the US since basically only TSMC and Samsung make them at this point, then there is no tariff at all. Companies in the US import the chips, then use the imported chips as part of their products. All the companies in the US do is assemble the imported parts (and sometimes not even that).

    EDIT: Ah, there was a miscommunication. I think we're both saying the same thing at this point. Well, mostly the same, since this doesn't really help US companies and just drives up prices for everything.

  • Even without the US being involved, this sounds kinda sketchy since they're basically just dumping some chemical on your eyes that doesn't have real long-term studies AFAIK. I wouldn't use something like that until it hasn't been shown to eat your eyes or something over the course of 40 years.
