  • I don't have any links handy, but the party as a whole is more or less centrist. Socially more left-wing, economically more right-wing. There are various groups in the party that lean either more left or more right. Basically, if you're "centrist" when comparing yourself to the actual centrist Democrat policies and the right-wing Republican policies, you're pretty much at best center-right.

  • I think fundamentally a lot of people do not understand that just because China and Russia (or a number of other countries) are in opposition to the US doesn't inherently make them "good." They're pretty much all shitty too, just in different ways than the US, yet actual problems get brushed off as "the loss of making Winnie the Poo jokes," as if not being able to make jokes on Weibo is the problem.

  • I will never understand the hypocritical surveillance state apologism when it comes to China or Russia on this site.

    If China's surveillance state was purely for the benefit of their citizens, they wouldn't need such an extensive censorship apparatus that frequently censors minorities and minority beliefs (e.g. LGBT topics) as well as content that reflects particularly poorly on the government.

    Anyway by reasonable I meant she wasn't talking about the Biden admin controlling the weather with space lasers to destroy Republican communities and was instead going against most Republicans for stuff like the Epstein files and so on.

    Anyway, don't really like the big AI focus they seem to have. It also wasn't immediately obvious to me if the AI even works properly when self-hosted. It sounds like you still need to login for the AI to function.

    The DB is apparently written in Rust, so that's neat at least.
