  • i like the mental image of a huge body of water where most places are only a few inches below the surface but youll randomly find little lava tubes that go unexpectedly deep (evidence of temporary hyperfocus), several deep valleys (more enduring fixations), and a couple mariana trenches (special interests). reminds me of the train on the water in spirited away.

  • ive always seen the lawn as a burden forced upon me by rich people, which is what it is. back when i had a house with a lawn i pretty much only mowed to avoid conflict with the city/nosy neighbors. i basically never used it for anything so it was literally just a thing that cost me time and money. my preference will always be whatever is the lowest maintenance option, which would usually be local plant species. id still probably do some kind of mechanical treatment every once in a while if i started to get trees or woody shrubs growing.

  • the units for farts would be interesting. i would ask for total mass of fart for a more understandable value. number of farts would be kind of ambiguous cause someone could have lots of little farts or few huge farts. some asshole would choose those asinine equivalent volume units favored by the compressed gases industry, which no one would really understand.

  • i can see that youve had some coolaid. i hope you can stop drinking and start recovering. a lot of what you said is gibberish, but throwing more data at machine learning models has been shown to result in diminishing returns, and doesnt change that the technology is inherently fallible. it might get very close to 100% reliable, but the hallucination problem will never fully go away. thats not the end of the world, but it requires machine learning algorithms to be paired with more deterministic tools to be sure of results. it happens with our own brains too, which is part of why we invented math and computers in the first place.

  • i dont think ive ever used a speach computer interface that wasnt hot garbage and misunderstood half of what i said unless i talked to it really slow like it was an idiot. pretty much every time it would have been faster to use the tactile interface. i dont even have that much of an accent compared to generic american.
