2 k a month is barely above minimum wage. That’s 24k a year. That’s garbage pay. (I’m answering from the point of view off where someone is earning that money in a job).

Having someone give you that is a nice chunk of money. But it gives you an idea of what it actually is worth.

Btw I’m answering as someone in a community of 114,000+ people. We have 4 towns that are shoved together. In this area that money is barely above minimum wage income.

basically it is correct in the U.S.

the line where they stop helping you is low and the line where you can actually make it on your own is above that. so they stop helping you but you have a very difficult time to get to the point where you can actually survive. so you wind up back on social welfare programs (or homeless). the system is broken in the aspect. has been for as long as i've been alive (born in the 70's) .

they need to use a scale and use that scale to help you move out of the welfare programs. so the more you make the less you get, but it isn't a hard cut off point. and the program needs to have incentives to help you get training to get a job so you don't need the help.

not very many people want to live on social welfare, they want to fend for themselves but the system is broken in a way that traps people.

as for it being a form of resistance. that i'm not sure what you mean by that. do you mean a form of the people resisting against the government? then no it isn't a form of resistance.

It sounds like you used the Internet to figure out that your home life sucked and life is better out there. But now the Internet is literally having the opposite effect. My advice at this point is literally spend less time on the Internet. Think of the Internet as the person who helped you to realize there are better things in life. But then that friend starts to drag you down. You get rid of the friend. That sounds harsh, but that’s just how life works.

I don’t know if you live in a big town or a small town, but I would say think of something or some things that you enjoy. Join clubs or groups that do those sorts of things. I saw this comment the other day on another post. It isn’t about quantity. It is an about quality.

One really good friend is The equivalent of 100 average friends or just acquaintances.

I’m not saying don’t have average friends or acquaintances, I’m saying look for the ones who are good friends.

A good friend is the one who you can call at two in the morning and say “ Shit, I just put my car in the ditch, I’m probably legally drunk, And if the cops find me, I am screwed” . That really good friend , he’ll be there.

A good friend is the one who you call when you find out your significant other is cheating on you, and understands the best course of action or at least can help you find the best course of action. Pro tip keying the cheaters car is not the best idea.

Acquaintances will simply say oh man I’m so sorry but then you don’t hear anything more from them.

Look for the good friends in those groups. And yes, I know what you’re saying , It’s hard to find people to hang out with. But that’s why I’m saying find clubs find organizations that do what you enjoy.

Here’s a really good example of what I mean by the Internet can bring you down. People in Scotland were afraid to come to the US because of what their media was saying about the US. What their media was saying how we treat other people. Go on YouTube and look at World Cup soccer fans from Scotland and you will see people who are amazed at how they got treated. How well they got treated.

And that’s going from Scotland to the US. I went from Minnesota to Washington DC a couple of years ago. As a tourist. I was concerned that everybody was gonna be cold and distant. Because that’s what I’ve always been told. That the people in DC are basically cold assholes. You couldn’t be more wrong about that statement. Everybody That I ran across was very nice. And it didn’t matter if it was in a restaurant if it was on the street if it was in a museum, it didn’t matter. People in general were and are quite pleasant.

The media loves to fear monger. And you see a lot of that on the Internet. But the reality is most people are actually very nice.

I’ve lived in Minnesota my entire life. The number of Somalian attacks on non Somalian individuals is so small it’s barely worth mentioning. Before you think I’m hard core left… yeah I’m center of left. Some days I might actually be right of center, just depends on my mood. So yeah coming from a guy with that mindset trust me the problems from Somalians is very small. Honestly the bigger problem is way too many of them don’t know how to drive. There is no real violence issue. I’d suggest getting your news from a better source. You are living in fear when you don’t need to.

I don’t blame you for living in fear if that’s what you are seeing in your choice of news though. I can’t blame you for others bad info.

But if you are passing on Minnesota, maybe try Wisconsin. They have some good doctors there. I just don’t want to see you suffer if you don’t need to.

As much as you hate government healthcare, I can kind of see that in your comments in your main post. Have you considered moving to Canada. You said you have six months of funding left , possibly go there. They have a fairly good healthcare system and maybe they can get you the help you need. Desperate times desperate measures. Another possibility is moving to a state that I have better healthcare in general. It’s well known throughout the US that any place in the southeast or general southeast of US is crap healthcare.

Minnesota’s got a decent healthcare system and benefits that might be able to help you. I’m just looking for options that might be able to help you. Going homeless is especially if your disabled is really bad.

Leaves get raked. Weeds get removed or I wouldn’t have grass (weeds would over take the grass). The grass is not one type of grass, it’s multiple types. It’s better that way. Survives winter in Minnesota,US. As for bugs… honestly I’m not sure what you mean by that. I’m not sure how you’d get rid of bugs in general. My bushes .. those I do pay attention to certain types of bugs that will destroy the bush. Those bugs I get rid of, or I wouldn’t have a plant. But bugs in general yeah not sure how you get rid of them.

Yes, it is actually possible in the United States to start up a small business and actually make money. Now how much money is always the question. Some of that comes down to luck. Some that comes down to just having a really good idea. I just started a business not too long ago. Actually now that I think about it. It’s probably about four years ago. But nonetheless, I’ve made some money on it. Not as much as I would want. Part of that is actually my fault for not working on it as hard as I should’ve. There are plenty of options in the United States to make money. At the risk of oversimplifying it it’s pretty much just a case of pick something. No, where did I get the money from.? Simple I’d save up over a number of years and I use that as the start up capital. No, I did not have millions of dollars to start. I didn’t even have $100,000 to start. I think honestly I had about $50,000 cash to start.

That’s risky for so many reasons. They could either kidnap you. Or they could have some seriously contagious diseases. Without the ability to properly vet them I wouldn’t go.

I don’t care whether or not billionaires do or don’t exist. As long as the people that they hire get paid a living wage so that at some point, they can retire. I don’t care how much a billionaire has.
