Calgary also has garbage pickup every other week while recycling and compost is picked up every week. This for me incentivized putting things in the recycling bin so that my black bin wasn't overflowing. The organics pickup also helped with that a lot because rotting food really can stink so less of it in the black bin the better.
Sounds like you'd enjoy the TV series "Naked and Afraid". Usually there's a pair trying to survive with only one piece of survival gear and no clothing, so a bit more extreme than solo. But I do remember one episode where the guy said "Running water with bubbles means it's safe!" and then got a horrible parasitic infection from drinking it which left the woman trying to survive by herself for a few days.
It's really quite nice. I was just in a rental car with a touchscreen and hated how hard it was to hit buttons while driving because your finger is bouncing from the road. With the knob you stay leaned back in the seat and rotate the knob and slap it down to activate things. Don't have to worry about missing the target. The only thing it's not great for is scrolling a map.
It says average. Jimmy Spider-Snacker developed narcoleptic sleep eating and really affected the mean.
