  • Look people into the eyes and smile a little whenever you talk to them. Everytime. After a while, learn to smile bigger. Then learn to actually smile while talking.

  • Who is it? For who do you play your music?

    Think about it.

If it turns out that you do it for yourself (plus maybe a few loved ones), then better don't build your life on your music. But if it is people, if you play for the audience, then this might be a promising way.

I don't know what to do.

I have read both posts. I can't help the feelng that you are also asking what to do with your life, not just with that bag full of money.

In the end my advice is "people" again. Do things that make people's life better (or less miserable, at least). Because a bag full of money doesn't make happy, it just fills the belly (and other low desires).

  • Oh yes, build a Chinese Wall around Usa, and then make China pay for it 🦸‍♀️😉😜

  • The same as it were without a Eurzone.

  • Deep Space 9.

The idea is just silly. It would make so much more sense to use a small moon instead for that purpose an then buildings are easier, everything goes easier.

  • and OpenAI Thinks It May Kick Off the AGI Era

Oh? Finally? Wasn't it the same with the last one already? And the one before...

Why does it remind me of Jehovah's witnesses and the end of the world?

  • You sound like a real car dealer 😃

  • GenAI is a technology. You shouldn't make a religion from it.

As with all technologies, it has it's strengths and weaknesses, and it has it's good and bad uses, and so on.

Currently, many people do not take proper care of it's failures.

  • It was obvious and proven already a few years ago:

CEOs are the first and most easy ones to replace by AI.

  • Today it is obvious that most "AI companies" will never be able to pay back all what they owe. And still investors are shoving fresh money into them.

My question is, will these bosses ever treated properly as the fraudsters they are?

That would be a start IMHO to deal with the problem in a sensible way. But currently it is regarded from a different angle, and that makes it look more complicated.

  • Hint: all roads are frozen...

  • Once I heard the story of a drunk guy who came right out of the pub and said he wants to jump into the river now, and then he jumped, but he didn't drown at all. Instead he cried out loud: Damn! Frozen!

  • Ok, just be careful if it's about tolerating opinions or tolerating people. Opinions are valuable, but can be discussed. People are even more valuable.

  • Saying “it’s a text generator” cannot be the full force of your criticism,

That is no criticism, just a statement.

My criticism goes to people who assign some metaphysical meaning to AI, or want to treat all it's output like a contagious pest.

  • Oh, please... is it still a text generator, or is it already a religion?

  • Yes, very. I had many years to think about things :)

But at the same time I can tolerate other people's opinions. I find it very interesting to hear other's view of the world, even if is very different than mine.

  • My personal opinion is that copyright should be strong in a manner inversely proportional to the size of the entity that controls that copyright.

Disney creates 100 mill small copyright holding companies. You lose.

  • 10 seconds is a low effort post

    no matter what.

(Low effort posts may be allowed in some communities)

  • option to apply for a 5-year extension twice.

I want to be the instance where they all have to apply!

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

Is Google really going to cut throats of ALL the Open Source world?
